Hi Guys, I am looking at wheel options for my C and I was wondering if anyone has noticed any decrease in MPG with a wider tire...? I am looking at a 15x6.5" Wheel and a 185/60-15 tire set up. I won't mod the wheels tho if there is any drop in MPG. What do you guys think?
In theory the wider tire should improve fuel economy to a point but despite CapriRacer's (tire expert on other forums) this doesn't seem to hold true in practice. Personally I wouldn't go with a wider tire unless you're trying to turn the car into a racer in which case mpg be damned. Are you simply just trying to upgrade wheels?
