Today I noticed a oil spot on the ground under my car about the size of a silver dollar. It had been sitting for about 24hrs. It was super thick, almost like honey. It seems like its coming from above the dr side cv joint. It doenst look like transmission fluid at all though, it has no red tinge to it whatsoever. This was the first time I noticed it, I'll try to take some pics of it.

Any ideas on what it may be?

Look under the car and see if you see the leak

That was the best I could do without jacking up the car and being late to work. It almost looks like something is flinging out of the inner CV boot while I'm driving, unless there is a seam in the transmission that is leaking right above the CV boot. I'm guessing by how the oil looks it is most likely not coming from the transmission. However I have never seen gear fluid inside of a CV I've always seen them full of grease, the boot also looks to be intact from the pictures.

    Thoughts?

sometimes the c/v boots do leak, and some manufacturers use very loose grease. take a good look at that boot when you get a chance.

155k if you look above the cv joint there a line of dark brown/black oil that is coming from somewhere. I just bought the car about 2 months ago and have already had to replace the brake pump assembly and front struts (i was able to do the struts on my own) I'm praying this isn't another costly repair.

It is quite possible the inner rubber boot was pulled off the joint when the struts were replaced. The boot should be inspected and if it is still serviceable refilled with the correct grease "which is quite fluid" and a new clip fitted.
