Volvo is struggling to keep up with demand for this car in Europe alone.

Volvo says it is increasing production of the V60 Plug-in Hybrid by 90 percent to
keep up with the demand, originating mainly from Holland, Belgium and Italy.
This means that production at Volvo Cars’ Torslanda plant in Sweden will be boosted
from 150 to 282 units per week. For the entire 2013, Volvo Cars will produce 7,600
plug-in hybrids, with the 2014 target being 10,000 units.

This raises the question as to whether production would be implemented in Volvo's
new plant(s) in China to generate sufficient volume should the V60 Plug-in Hybrid
be introduced into North America.

What about the U.S.?
While the car described and pictured above is impressive, it achieves its numbers with the help
of a diesel engine, something not typically fawned over in the U.S. market. To address that,
Volvo is reportedly working on another form of the V60 Plug-In Hybrid, albeit with a gas-
burning engined swapped into the equation in the place of the diesel found in the Europe-
bound model.

I would love a diesel hybrid vehicle! The last time I heard of one was a 200k BMW awhile ago - obviously out of almost everybody's price range.
