Well, here it is. Thanks for your patience during the ~3 day closure of the forums while I converted PriusChat to our new server home and new software. I'm very excited to hear your feedback on the new site, so please feel free to post your questions & suggestions, and especially post any bugs that you find. This is about the 5th generation of PriusChat.com, and each iteration has brought new and unique features. As you poke around the new site, I'm sure you'll notice some of the new features. I'll get into those features soon with a few videos showing off how the best features work, but here are a couple you might want to check out: Videos - the video tab above will take you to a depository where you'll be able to view and submit Prius videos. Wiki - This is going to be a great project. Let's build a truly great "Prius Open Handbook" - together. More info on it coming soon. I want to take a moment to thank our great moderators, efusco, TonyPSchaefer, Tideland Prius, Paradox, and HTMLSpinnr for helping me test the site over the last month. Their continued dedication to PriusChat makes it the great site that it is. I'd also like to thank all of the PCers who helped out with beta testing over the last couple of weeks. Some of the features you see on the site are as a result of their input. I hope you enjoy the site! Danny PS - You might want to update your avatar to take advantage of the higher resolution.
The Prius sub-menu "Main Forum" link leads to a 404 error. Other sub-menus have the same error. This broken link is http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum.72/
All threads are showing as unread. Is there a way to mark a forum as read? There used to be a little sub-menu item to do this.
There should be a submenu on the navigation bar up above under where it says "Forums", and on that submenu there is a "Mark Forums Read" link. This is your View New Posts link - Recent Threads | PriusChat
Minor bug: the views/comments meters for a thread posted on the home page do not update consistently.
A lot more data is cached now, and the views #s is one of those. So, it's not a bug, it's a "feature"!
More than a new face, I want PC to be fast. So far it has been lightning. Awesome. BTw, I look forward to contributing to the wiki and seeing threads that have been rehashed a hundred times end at one response: SEE <link> <<grin>>
Ahh. Quite acceptable for a more responsive website. Perhaps then the meter(s) can say 'as of <>' ....
The url has changed from priuschat.com/forums to priuschat.com/forum (no "s"). I'm getting a 404 from my bookmarks, and a lot of internal links.
I'm still setting up re-writes for the forums. All threads should be redirecting properly. If not, let me know the urls.
Regarding the avatars, where can we easily set our avatar to one of the generic Priuses that used to be available? I had mine set to the generic white 2nd gen. It happens to be what I have.
I still have to setup the generic avatars. I wanted to re-do them to take advantage of the higher resolution, though I still have to figure out how to handle the square avatars with a rectangular car.
http://priuschat.com/forums/ is not redirecting. At least not when I try it. I like the new smilies. The whole site looks really good. Go Danny!
Some one should add to the twitter: Start > Run ipconfig /flushdns (or type that at a command prompt) You will get the new IP address for this new server/forum
The new forum is priuschat.com/f/ Which may probably totally destroy the SEO and google rankings, they should shortly add a redirect for /forum/ to /f/ probably vice versa.
Currently the avatars are square only, and will, I'm guessing, zoom in to center the image, cropping off the sides. It might be something I have to look into. I personally kind of like the stylized look, but others might have a different opinion.
