I am currently maintaining a 2004 Prius (Gen 2) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Recently, I’ve noticed some jerking/hesitation when the engine starts, particularly during low SOC (44%) and high battery temperatures (39°C+).

I recently fixed a P0446 code by replacing the EVAP VSV (Vacuum Switching Valve), which resolved that specific issue. Now, I want to focus on the intake side. My recent Car Scanner data shows:

Everything on it has been maintained at the dealer and I always make it a point to buy parts for our dealership that are high quality.

However this is also a 17 year old. So we can't opt for the high-dollar Toyota factory unit.

Or maybe we can? These are a few thoughts I have on where the sweet spot may be...

1) Find the highest rated one on Amazon which includes the harness. Apparently removing one from an older unit...

I didn't know there was any other way. A mechanic was going to do a test on my car and asked for the fob. He stuck it in the dash.

I realize this is a personal choice, no right or wrong answer. I was wondering, how many people do that each time?

Actually didn't have any bulbs in both sockets!-) Bought 194 type, all references said it's the right type for 2008 Prius and got this, some older socket? Can see that it won't fit.

I'm looking for technical advice on a persistent P0446 code on my 2004 Toyota Prius (Gen 2). The history of this fault is quite specific:

A while back, I had to replace the key fob shell. I bought just a shell on eBay and moved the green board from the original to the new case.

I didnt keep the original casing, so now I cant find the FCCID that it says I would need in order to get the right model fob to program .

I need to know if anyones has had this issue...

I believe I have discovered an unknown mechanism of low mpg in the Prius. Gen 2's are 100% effected by this. There is significant evidence it applies to the Gen 3 Prius as well. It may even apply to Gen 4's.

This low mpg mechanism is not complete yet, as my personal Gen 2 Prius has been uncooperative in giving me all the data evidence I need. I only have half! So I will need the help of my fellow Prius owners to help me complete this post by testing their Prii. I...
