looks like their twist ties weren't long enough to reach the holes.

What is wrong with using the plastic clips? They work FINE. My sister pulled the mat in her 2005 wen she got her recall letter. The OEM mats in our '04 and '06 are still in and NO problems. The whole floor mat recall thing is a farce.

Maybe a GM new hire came up with that idea.

Just got home with it less than an hour ago!

Final total came to $878. I did get the alignment included in the tie-rod Extended Warranty repair costs.

Brakes were in fantastic shape, no need to worry about those for another 50k miles or so. They did replace my belt...I'll have to take their word that it was needed.

It was interesting to hear the whine of the heat recovery pump again, it must've died this summer sometime b/c I remember hearing it squeaking last winter and thinking it wasn't squeaking in the summer b/c it was warmer...but now I know it was simply dead.

I'm not sure if they did something, but the steering feels a bit more sure, less play in the steering wheel...maybe my imagination after almost 2 weeks away.

It may also just be that the battery and inverter was really cold, but I had a stop after the ICE had well passed 168F shortly after picking up the car and the ICE would not shut off and do the usual idle check to enter S4!? The climate control was off, there were no other unusual power drags that would force it to stay on. Battery was right at 51F, Inverter was 68F. Once it did get into S4 it seemed to work fine.

It may be my imagination, but the car sounds a bit more "throaty" too. Now, there's also a slight rattle on bumps and I suspect they did not attach my BT Skid Plate properly. When I'd first put it on there was some contact b/w the plate and the engine block and it created a similar 'rumble'. I'm going to have to crawl under there and see if they put my spacers back in so that there's no contact.

Since the car was outside on their lot for 10-11 days it was filthy...I sure wish they'd have thrown in a free car-wash/detail for the delay... oh well.

All requested services were documented and completed.

Glad you got your car back Doc. A question though... How do you measure the temp of the battery and more impotantly the inverter? I thought it was impossible to get the inverter temp. that's why people are so nervous about the inverter pump failing?

the tech was sure happy to have that warranty alignment- pretty much the only instance where warranty pays better ;) the alignment could have improved your handling a bit.

you sure the pump failed? it should have triggered a code.

I can do that tomorrow...or I'll scan the paperwork and post it..though it'll probably be easier to read if I just copy the important stuff, it's a PITA to interpret.

In the mean time, you can look at the original list of items in the OP. All that was done for me, the coolant pump and alignment were covered under warranty, I had to pay for a new belt.

Cool, hope he made a bit as clearly my car was a little bit of a pain and I was pretty specific in my list of items to do. He had to deal with the skid plate and apparently my pipe insulation grill block threw everyone for a loop!

I thought so too, but I never had a code. But I am certain that the pump never ran for the past 6+ months. In cold weather it was hideously loud previously...you couldn't miss it.

Very fair prices. Glad your car is back in service now & that you didn't have to pay for the alignment.
