At the time of its release, the Lexus CT was considered as one of the quality sedans in its segment.

The Lexus CT hybrid is one of the advanced hybrids in its segment; it is a 4-door hatchback that can accommodate five adult passengers.

Lexus CT is designed with an efficient electric/gas drivetrain which directs the produced power to the front wheels. Close rivals to Lexus CT hybrid are the Mini Cooper Clubman and Volvo C30.

Well, it is officially priced less than the HS...

The new Lexus CT 200h is truly a different kind of hybrid. Arriving in March 2011, it has an EPA-estimated combined rating of 42 mpg [1], the highest of any luxury vehicle [2]. Not only that, its aggressively styled exterior is designed to help improve handling and reduce drag. With a starting price of just $29,120 MSRP [3], it's easy to find out for yourself how innovative the CT 200h really is.

You have a few packages that overlapped... (or was that taken into account?)

Pics I've seen seem to show a heads up display. Let's hope it works better than GM's.

Still a bit skeptical that HSD will ever facilitate fast cornering, too much lag (at least in the Prius) to have any hope of balancing the chassis with throttle inputs. But I'm all for more and different executions of the hybrid idea, to open up the market and our minds in the process.

The overlapping packages is required. If you want option X then it requires you to select options Y and Z with similar names.

And @ Pinto, what lag? The HSD inherently has 0 lag because of the electric motors. The Prius is not a bagillion horsepowered car though, so it is not a fast accelerator/decelerator but as far as throttle lag there is none. If you testdrive any of the Lexus hybrids, the only change (other than the higher voltage pack) is a beefier motor. In every case the HSD increases performance of the vehicles.

Lexus in general is not a racing feel. Even the ISF feels "Lexus-y". Have not had the option to drive an LFA though! :) But I enjoy that feel.

Err, not in this case since there are 3 different Premium Audio packages depending on whether you want the backup camera or whether you have the navigation package or not. You can't have all 3 premium audio packages in the car at the same time.

No, but you cant select one without the other. They build on eachother.

I used the Lexus "build your own" in an email link minutes after the email was received. When selecting one package, it says you cannot have it unless you select this other package. Then when you select that, it says you cant have it unless you select this again other package. Perhaps a bug they have since fixed, but there are two distinct messages that came. The first being you need package Y to add package X. The other is you cannot have both package X and package Y. So the maxed out model has no duplicates according to Lexus.

Must be a bug. When I was reading the options list in the other CT200h thread, the nav pack requires the Premium Audio package that costs $1,100. The leather package requires the Premium Audio Package #1 ($1,125).. the $25 gets you a compass in the mirror which isn't necessary with the nav pack. Now I assume if add the two (leather and nav), you wouldn't need Premium Audio #1 since the nav pack covers it.

Ditto if you order the PCS/DRCC.

CT200h gives a better value than the Volt. I know they are for different people. CT200h costs $10k less than that Volt because there is no $10k battery that requires plugging in. CT200h gets better MPG in CS mode and has more interior room as well.

Funny I never thought to compare but when people see the price of a "Chevy" higher than a "Lexus" I think it will sway some people.

Those with the money to buy the volt, wont... It is a chevy, and that brand name cant be changed. Slap a caddy emblem on the back, and it might sell.
