And here is a picture of my car with red LED tail light on the left, and stock white bulb on the right:

Note the tinting on the brake lights only on the left as well.

whats with the one red brake? what are you trying to do there? the standard red LED brake is quite bright already.

I took the picture after I had tinted one brake light but before I had tinted the other.

I found my LEDs on billetanything.com. I however bought the "red" bulbs not the clear or white. I've found them to be quite bright and no problems. I have over 1,000 miles on them.

I would want something brighter than that, something as bright as the LED brake lights. Since I always have my headlights (HIDs) on, I'd like the tail lights to match the brake lights.

As others have said... this is a mistake! Always match the LED color to the filter (lens) color! As a fun experiment to demonstrate the problem - shine an LED flashlight through a glass of red wine. Now try it with an incandescent flashlight of the same brightness (ha, if you could find one!). The difference is dramatic. Never use a white LED behind a red lens. You'll only get a small percentage of the light output as there is very little red in a white LED (blue coated with phosphor).

Or to put this another way - the bulb you replaced was NOT white. It was, in fact, yellow/orange. There is a LOT of red in a hot wire so most of it gets through the filter. I "white" incandescent bulb and white LED have almost nothing in common.

I ordered a complete set of LEDs off ebay. I went ahead and bought the colored LEDs where needed. All of them are coming from China so it might be a week or two before I get them. I will start a new topic with all the info and if I'm not too lazy some pictures.

When I ordered some bulbs from China, they took about 23 days to arrive. One of them didn't last but 1 week.

I tried to replace the bulb in the front. I think it's the t10 bulb. However what I did was I twisted it now it fell down into the slot. I have no idea how to get it back out. Now that I'm looking at it the T10 socket has no wires? Where can i find this socket or how do I take the compartment out?

I did the same thing on the (dome) 3-light cluster on the roof near the rear-view mirror! I am personally embarrassed :(, and frustrated, -as I cannot find a way to "snake around" for the wires, let alone re-insert the sockets that fell through. Any suggestions?
