I was wondering if anyone had installed a longer rear wiper blade. I read so much about people REMOVING it, which boggles my mind (a deal-breaker if a new car doesn't have a rear wiper!), but we get tons of rain and have tons of humidity here, so I have to use it every other day. BUT, it wipes such a tiny little spot, and I remember someone mentioning in some other post about a longer rear wiper somewhere. Any ideas?

Yep, I bought a Toyota Sienna rear wiper blade (on ebay) and installed a regular 19" wiper blade (Michelin, but any will work). It fits perfect, takes a bit of checking to determine exactly what angle to mount it at, but only a few wipes will tell. Then tighten down the nut, and you're ready to go. Only drawback is it does not lift up like the Prius does to clean under, only about an inch, but no problem for me. The advantage is that the Sienna does not angle over to the left, which keeps it from wiping to the bottom part of rear window. You should probably check the tightness of the nut for a while because it takes a while to "seat" down and make it's own grooves in the cone shaped mount area. Easy to do once you look at the 2 different arms.

There are also generic wiper arms that are adjustable in length. With one of those you can adjust the arm length to fit the longest wiper possible for the shaft and window geometry. I suspect your Sienna arm is close to optimum and looks better.

I just noticed that my response may be misunderstood, I meant to say the advantage to the Sienna wiper arm is that it does not angle to the left, which is why "the Prius arm does not wipe to the bottom of the glass." The Sienna does wipe more completely to the lower edge of glass.

So, like we can do on the Prius rear wiper, are you not able to snap off that little tab underneath the cover that goes over where the wiper arm bolts onto the car, which then allows you to lift the wiper up all the way?

Can you take a picture of the Sienna arm on your Prius? I'm curious about how it looks on there, compared to how the stock mirror looks..... I haven't bought the one off Sigma yet (been preoccupied with the granny more so than normal lately), yet have good intentions to....unless you have a better option with that sienna one...

Well, my car has been in an out of the body shop for over a year now being modified, getting mods "corrected", getting painting flubs corrected, sending off headlights 3 times to New Orleans to be customized....waiting....waiting....etc. I just got my headlights back for the 3rd time (been waiting 2 months with my car just sitting at the body shop with the front off of it). I had to take it there to get the rear spoiler taken off and then have the rear window replaced because my garage door came down on it and busted it... Now I can get (hopefully) the last little things fixed and painting fixed (a few "transparent" spots on the paint job; the glass people scraped up the glossy black paint on the rear wing and the black piece on the top of the hatch; etc., etc...). So, long story short, I haven't had much time with my car to even think about the rear wiper situation. I do remember, though, that I never felt entirely sure which wiper it was exactly that is the one we can replace ours with. I'd have to know for sure, then I'd be more apt to go ahead with it. Now that I have all the super gloss black paint on various spots on my car, though, I am one of those people who won't drive my car in the rain since I'd have to wash it afterward then. And I'd be afraid to scratch that black paint by washing it. Paranoid, I know.... I do know that I have to figure out how to wash it correctly after getting it back finally, since I obviously WILL have to wash it at some point. I can't leave it sitting in the garage forever! lol So, have you figured out which wiper is the exact one we have to get to replace our rear one with? I can't even remember now since I last read about this to see what to buy. Sorry!

If I resorted to driving mine in the rains here like we normally get, I think it'd be worth it, cause I seemed to have to use mine every other day before I started all the mod stuff and have not had my car since. Seems it rains every other day here...

I drove around my dealership's parking lot on about 20 different occasions to see if I could see a Sienna to actually check out the rear wiper on it, but never have seen one yet. Have we reached any decisive conclusion on what year model of Sienna wiper fits on our car?

I used a 22" front wiper - works great! ( - It will actually accommodate up to a 24"). Had to modify it a little to fit: wiper arm is 12.5 mm wide with a 6.5 mm diameter groove to accept the wiper pin. On the "universal" wiper I bought, removed the plastic insert. The metal frame holding the pin was <12.5 mm (note that not all front wipers are the same width) and the wiper's pin was <<6.5 mm diameter. So I pried the wiper's frame apart to either side of the pin until it was just wide enough to fit the wiper arm. Here is a photo from the inside; will try to post close-up later

Sorry, just saw your question. No, I've never pursued it any further because of modification stuff I've been doing for well over a year now. I've barely driven the car during this time, so I hadn't actually thought about it due to all the other "unfinished" things I'm trying to get completed on my car some time during my lifetime. lol. Sorry I don't have better news to deliver!

Do you know what model year Sienna wiper arm fits the prius? Also, did you get the plastic or metal arm?
