    You can but you shouldn't use HID bulbs in a halogen projector. If you want better lighting than use HIR bulbs or do a proper HID retrofit. Oncoming drivers will thank you.

    Tell me about it!!! Thats the bay area for ya! Another reason why i wanted to fix my car up so I don't look like everyone else...

    No worries. :)

    Just buy a good bulb. Cheap ballast seem to work fine so DDM Tuning or XnonDepot is a good choice. But with bulbs try and get the higher quaility ones. The ones from DDM suck. Check out the Morimoto bulbs from the RetroFitSource.

    Have you actually observed the cutoff of the GenIII projector with an HID in it? It appeared pretty flat to me without too much glare.

    ^ The cutoff is distinctly flat. There's a slight amount that goes above, but it not much.

    I'm been running HID bulbs in mine for over 2 years now with no issues. I've been only flashed twice from oncoming traffic... both times on country roads and both times the trunk was loaded down.
