    Hi Blizzard2010

Here is how I made it work,

-I used the from 4 screw holes to hold the front of the fabric on, not the screw themselves. I then sat in the backseat and place the front of the armrest cover on while I folded the sides of the fabric under and pulled on it to keep it snug.

-It took me a while to get the above done, perhaps three tries before I could fold the fabric under the back of the armrest while holding the front in place.

-Once I was happy with how it looked I installed the front four screws and then the rear four.

I hope this makes sense and helps somewhat. I wish I had taken a photo of how I ended up cutting the fabric as I had just the front part long enough to fold under and loop around the screw holes

    Words from the (Now) Wise:
I followed Dan bo's lead and covered my center console with a chunk of fleece that matches the fleece covers (blue tie-died looking fleece that I think looks real nice with my blue Prius) I put on my front seats. While replacing the first front screw (done with the console in a vertical position), I dropped it into the narrow gap on the underside of the console cover. It took me a few days of thinking to figure out how to get it out (with a magnet - from the back side - with the console in the horizontal position) without removing the whole console. So after I learned that lesson, I shoved a rag into that gap so any dropped screws would not disappear into that gap.

I know that the fleece will pill slightly (as the seat covers already have) but I like the color and the fleece was relatively inexpensive.

Another thanks from me. I had been "sitting" on some fabric that was the wrong color for some time and then finally got the nerve to use an off black leatherette instead. Looks like a great match for this car with the gray and muted black color scheme of the interior. Will post a pix as soon as I get a chance to pull out the camera. I did try to match the cuts that were made to the original material and also used a large stapler to get some of the fabric positioned as they did with the original fabric.

I used off black leatherette as well that I bought from Joanne to do this mod from Dan bo's idea awhile back. Matches real good w/ the steering wheel cover & overall interior of the car. Here's my results. Btw, another great job Dan bo:).

I would like to copy you, but don't understand how you secure the material to the armrest cover?

Here's my console redo. I used Katzkin vinyl to match the doorskins. I found that with some good adhesive and lots of pulling I was able to stretch the material around the corners so I have no fold lines.

Waiting on my 10K oil change this past weekend and was walking through lot looking at the '12 line. Noticed one nice 3rd gen with a really sweet armrest console cover that looked like it was hand stitched. Anyone seen these or know if they can be purchased for the '11 models?

Try a fabric store that sells upholstery fabric.
That's where I get my stuff.
Should be able to find leather, suede, vinyl, faux suede, etc.

Thanks to this thread. Here is my center console mod. I used 3.5 inch foam wrapped with leather over the original console. I was testing out the other piece of foam on the console from Joann's which was 6 inches way too soft and tall. I ended up going to Bob's Foam Factory in Fremont, CA he let me try out different foam pieces.
