This is not a bulb problem but more of a projector problem.

Who here is a member on hidplanet? I know I can't be the only 1.

I just bought a complete kit from TRS with Mini Kit for my 09 Corolla. It turned out nice. :D

Here are some more measurements(in mm) and test fit of e55(hella) projector that I have lying around. I don't have any other projectors to test fit it. I used to have alot of different projectors in my previous life but sold them all now. :(

As you can see with e55 projector, there is little modification needed to fit/mount it. My only concern is e55 projector protrudes about 8mm more and maybe touching the shroud but I don't know for sure since I don't have a spare shroud. Maybe the mounting post can be cutdown a few mm to move the projector back.

I'll try to test mount it sometime this weekend as time permits. I'm seriously thinking of doing this mod but not looking forward to baking the headlight and I also have very little time.

Enjoy the pic and let me know if you have any questions.

Justin, what do you think about the TRS "quick retro" kits for cars that came with halogen projectors? I wonder if Toyota uses the same projector in several models. I'd be tempted to send an OEM one to TRS to see what they could come up with or have on hand that would make the swap the easiest possible.

I've never used it but it could prove pretty useful for a retro. I really like the H1 minis. They are definitely better than our stock projectors and they produce less glare.

I'm just so done with baking headlights now. So is my girlfriend. LOL

I might see if they'll let me send in the stock projector to see what they recommend. They had some Scion ones, and it makes me wonder if they may be the same projector. I wouldn't be overly surprised if they were.

SFV - I hear ya on that one. I have some head lights coming, so I'll see what is easy and most cost effective. I posted some fog light measurements for you in the fog light thread out there, in case you missed it.

Yes I did the retrofit myself. :D I bought the bi-xenon Morimoto H1 4.1 projector kit. I love it. I also bought a second kit for my 95 Previa but I haven't done that retrofit yet.

Here are some pics of the process.

FYI - TRS said that the Lexus RX350 Bi-Xenon is a direct drop-in replacement for our housing. That seemed odd, because they also asked me if I had any information and/or measurements on ours first. Maybe someone else did the RX350 already somewhere. The price on that one is a little higher than I was wanting to spend, because it would entail new bulbs again, too.

I offered to send them the projector from the spare housing I'm getting, to see if it would help them with any of the quick-retro kits or not. If nothing else, it would be nice if they were able to keep a database of drop-in replacements of theirs to factory halogen ones.

It's also over $400 for the lens & bulbs, too.

No luck on the retro for the Harley? I'm telling ya, I think I can get a cover that sticks out like 4" on the front to allow for the retro to get done on it. I just gotta find that link again....

I can believe that. It looks exactly like supercharged's retrofitted headlights. It also has steering-linked dynamic auto-leveling. Anyone wants to build the world's only Prius with adaptive headlights?

That said, I better start keeping my RX350 locked in the garage and the Prius out in the street so the RX is safe from all you PC modders.
