I got the one for the windshield.
I find it fairly easy to unroll and put in place, but when i get back in the car it's quite cumbersome to remove and roll back up especially having to either turn flip it over first, or try to roll in the opposite direction in order to have the silver surface on the outside so the velcro strap works.
Any tips from those who use in regularly?

    Dennis,

I called the folks at HeatShield (canvasworks.com) and they sent me a extender for my strap to allow a slightly larger roll to be secured.

I start on the driver's side with the HeatShield lowered down below the rearview mirror but still on the dash and just roll it right up. The original strap was usually about 2 inches to short but the extended one works great.

Love my HeatShield and hope you will too.

Thanks for the heads-up on the extender strap. I agree, this is a great product and is a lifesaver out in the Desert.

I don't mess with rolling it back up. I just fold it in half (horizontally) and shove it in the back seat. If I have passengers then it goes way back in the rear.:)

Cool, ya i don't have a problem with the length of the strap, it was more an issue of the thing being so big and unwieldy that made it hard to flip it around to start rolling it up while sitting in the driver seat.
I have found it easier to yank it out while standing outside the car and roll it up out there.
But I think it would be easier to roll up from inside the car if the velcro strap was on the opposite surface, so when it was rolled up the white side was on the outside. That way you wouldn't need to flip the darn thing.

I lean back, drop it down, rotate it 90 degrees CCW (so the driver's side edge is by my chin) and roll it underhanded, silver side out.

Yup, exactly what I was doing when I made the initial post.
But i guess the passenger side is what ends up by my chin, since I'm rotating it.

My GF is the primary driver of our 2012 and uses the heatshield almost every day.
I love her but she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Everytime I see the shield it is folded in half and in the back.
Doesn't show any signs of struggle.
I ask her how it works.
She thinks it's great and says it's a little awkward but is no big deal.
We spend most of our time with the rear seats folded down.
    Got a couple Terriors.

    But I digress.
If she can do it, anyone can do it.

After spending 7 years in high school I'm a pretty good judge of character.
You my friend, are NOT the biggest jerk in the world.
    I assure you.

Well, I guess I know now that I fall into that category as well. I've always wondered... ;)

Here's what I saw outside of work just today, well over 100F:

Sorry about the orientation and possible neck pain --- Tapatalk shows it in the proper perspective on my iPad, but not here. :(

    new iPad ?

Nope. It's a regular collapsible shade that is still "collapsed". I'm pretty sure Neil Diamond CDs aren't as easily destroyed. ;)
