I took a look at your pics. They look like the JDM illuminated door sills. Their design is different from ours (as ours has the HSD logo illuminated and as you said, our rear sills are not illuminated)

Your comparison of products coming from China is kinda wrong. My original Apple iPhone comes from China too but does not compare to the fake ones. Same with OEM and non-OEM products. They all come from China but the quality difference is obvious. I don't know about this particular product. I just meant that I prefer the OEM but I'm glad that the aftermarket one is good too.

I received mine today and just stuck them in place, wiring the negative off each switch is no issue, any photos of which positive feed to wire into?

    I found an installation manual
Installation instructions can be found here. Also, check out this video, it looks helpful.
I just got mine today. Anyone in LA area who's willing to help a non-tech savvy guy?

Thanks for the links, I looked at them but the wiring in the UK Prius is different and the cables are differnt colours and not just white, strange!

Anyhoo, I got them all wired in last night, look wicked! Wired the negative off each door switchable and the positive into the footwell wire for the door lights.

Glad to hear that. I just did mine too. Very easy job. Took me about 2.5 hours to install the door sills, lower door moldings and a rear bumper protector.

In the last photo you can also see the White LED Lexus footwell bulbs, they all match!!!

I just ordered one set an I'll report back when the package arrives.

You can find the OEM sills for $130 with some googling! By the way, what's the best way to clean them? A drop of sweat while I was wiring my new Nav unit fell on one and has left a darkish circle in the aluminum.

Aren't they supposed to be stainless steel instead of aluminum? Mine are stainless steel.

Sills arrived 2 weeks ago. They are made from stainless steel, quite good machinery/pressing quality, the test fit looks to be okay. Due to time and other summer constrains I didn't have a chance to install them. Stay tuned.

Last Satuday morning I installed illuminated door sills from autodvdgps.com. I decided to tap the +B 12V power from OL1 (driver side), resp. NL1 (passenger side) pin 24 and use door switches for each door sill as a switched ground. This +B pin is powered from DOME fuse, so there is a good match between sill's light and fuse's name. Above mentioned connectors are located under front side kick panels - see Pic.1 below.
For the installation we need to remove front and rear door scuff plates. Then partialy detach the front and rear door weather strips along the center pillar and then the lower center pillar t-shaped cover can be removed.
The rear sidebacks (on passenger side with battery vent) can be placed out without the rear cushion removal. The 12mm hex screw (one on on each side) is accesible with long wrench through the niche between rear cushion and sideback itself. The push of the sideback slightly up will remove it and the rear door switch is accessible. Then the front kick panels have to be removed (1 plastic nut and 2 blue plugs).
I simply soldered the additional wire to each door switch wire and insulated the joint with the tape and repaired the original wire tubes.
Each sill has a wired connector and its corresponding free cable with an opposite connector. The sills are designed for the double side tape installation, which I don't like. So I mounted stainless sills over original plastic ones. It is not perfect fit, as this 2 piece assembly is higher then OEM, but sills can be easily removed in case of necesity and there is plenty of space between doors and body.
