    I may be wrong, but I thought you had to have driven rear wheels to drift. RWD or AWD

    The VSC with no OFF option would put a stop to a slide pretty quickly.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but from my high school days I learned that while you could obviously drift easier with rear-wheel or all wheel drive. A wee bit of drifting is possible in front-wheel drive cars... Catch is once your rear end slides out you can't counter steer it back into place unless you also accelerate, or pull the rear wheels back in line at the same time... it takes some fancy clutch work too once the the front wheels start drifting. It's a wonder I didn't get killed during unsupervised auto shop class test drives......

    It'd be probably quite challenging to do in a Prius with skid control, but race car drivers can do amazing things!

    I ran two slicks up front at an autox once, the stability control wouldn't let me do too much sliding. Too bad there is no VSC button off

    Anyone know how to hack a way to turn traction control off without harming the drivetrain?

    It couldn't be that hard, could it?

    Its not a hack, you just put it into service mode. The same mode used for emmisions testing. The engine will constantly run, but stability control and traction control are completely disabled. The warning is if while slipping it then gains traction, there is the potential for a surge of power in the PSD to compensate which can be bad for the components over time.

    I have a RXh, that car has the ability to turn off the traction control. Since they have the same basic system, how come I can spin tires in the RXh?
