    Nice catch. Has the weight on there too, basically 95 lbs.
    I have to say though, at $6500 for a fully-assembled kit, it's pretty steep. Even if you end up getting an extra 15 miles of range, that's saving 0.3 gallons of gas per charge. Even at $4/gal gas, that's only $1.20/charge. So you need to charge over 5,000 times (!) to get the money back. Or 14 years.
    Even at $7/gal gas, we're looking at an 8+-year payback period…

    it's definately not about the payback. if it's plug n play, i spose they'll get a few takers. i would spend $2,000. for an extra 5 miles, but i'll probably wait for the next iteration.

    I would want a seperate charger, tapped into the same J1772 socket, so that both packs could charge in parallel on an L2 charging station/EVSE.

    I suppose charging serially on an L1 EVSE would be fine for overnight charging.

    The outlet has no idea what chemistry is in the battery…BMS takes care of that.

    according to jim in his earlier posts he tried to charge the pis batteries with the PIP oem charger and it failed

    btw, if you go to installation instructions, it tells you it's the same as gen III. that's all that's there. if you go to gen III installation instructions, there are pictures of parts, but no instructions.
