Once again, you never cease to amaze. I'm going broke trying to keep up. LOL! Actually, 2013 has some good things in store for my car as you already know a couple things. Even at almost 80k miles, she's still looking good and gonna look alot better right after the first of the year. Talk to you soon buddy. I'm trying my best to work out a time to get away from the projects at home so we can meet for lunch or something here real soon.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

The Latest Addition to HBII is here !!!

    The LEXUS CYLINDER Cover !!!
    (Lexus Part Number : 11212-37080)

From the 2013 Lexus CT200h, this Cylinder Cover is a Direct Fit for the 3rd Generation Prius.

I wanted to achieve the Clean, Streamlined look in the Engine Bay found in the Lexus vehicles, and so complimenting the previous installed Engine Room Covers, this made a great addition to the Engine Bay.

Here are pictures from the Installation !!!

    Delivery ...

Comparison of the Toyota Original Equipped Cylinder Cover (Top) and the Lexus Original Equipped Cylinder Cover (Bottom)

The Underside view revealed that the mounting locations are Exactly the same !!!

Because I wanted the New Cylinder Cover to reflect both the "Toyota" and the "Hybrid Synergy Drive" emblems it was time for some customizing !!!

Removal of the Emblems (These were both the same size so it was a direct replacement)

With my Dremel I removed the "Hybrid Synergy Drive" emblem ...

Because the "Lexus" Emblem had an additional mounting location there was an area that needed to be sanded and repainted ...

    Painted ...

Installation of the Hybrid Synergy Drive emblem ...

Because of the installed Tanabe Strut Tower Bar location, I needed to remove the Windshield Wipers/Motor, and Cowl Covers to install the New Cylinder Cover with ease ...

    And Voila !!!

    BEFORE ...

    AFTER !!!

As you can see ... the Tanabe Strut Tower Bar does cover the "Hybrid Synergy Drive" emblem considerably. Should you decide to install this and not have the Tanabe Strut Tower Bar, you'll be able to see the complete emblem !!!

All in All, I am very satisfied with this latest modification to the Engine Bay. This goes very well with the Engine Room Covers. I do enjoy a non-cluttered look in the engine !!!

    Happy Holidays Everyone !!!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!

    :):):):)

First Mod of 2013 has arrived !!!

Received the JDM Toyota Japan Door Strikers & Striker Covers !!!

I ordered these directly from Ebay.

Found on newer Lexus automobiles, these are also available from Toyota Japan specifically for our Prius !!!

Regarding the Function of these Strikers and Striker Covers, I have heard several reviews. One, that the metal plate (Striker/Plate Assembly) can over time, corrode, and rust due to wear. And Second, that they cause less vibration and noise when the door is opened or closed.

Either way, here are pics !!!

    Delivery

I am very pleased with the new JDM Toyota Japan Strikers /& Striker Covers, whether they are used for either anti-corrosion or just for aesthetics, they do clean up the area rather well !!!

Stay Tuned for more 2013 Mods coming soon !!!
