Prius WON'T START the first try..

    I have prius 2009 44k....this is the second time in 3..4 months that when i press brake and push start button..All lights in the car turn on as usual and warning light stays on as well (no normal) ...screen on dash does NOT turn on (touch screen) ..and of curse car is not ready...just lights on (dash ones)...so i have to push power 2 more time to shut it off and start over..then car performs normally...What could it be???thanks for any help

    brake switch needs adjusting or press harder on brake. otherwise, 12 volt battery?

    Thanks...i think i didn't press it hard enough. ..in case it needs adjustment do i need to go to toyota dealer? ?. Thanks

    i've never done it. if you want to try it yourself, search here, there may be previous threads on it. otherwise, any competant mechanic should be able to do it. all the best!

    It is not necessary for you to shut the car off. Just press on the brake pedal HARD, and press the POWER button once to get the car READY.
