+1 on the horns. Heck, even I was able to do that mod with minimal blood loss.

An NRA sticker in the rear short window generates chuckles in the cars behind you.

Jumpers: I think our cars are tricky to jump. I'll defer (I'm a new owner too)

Discover where you would afix the jumpers if the smaller battery needs a jump; under the bonnet there's a fuse box with a designated positive terminal....there are a few posts here providing instructions for jumping/trickle charging utilizing this terminal.....

Wow, since I checked before leaving work yesterday there's been a lot of thread activity! Thanks, everyone. This response will have to be short since I have a meeting to attend. More to come...

Thanks for the list! Service records show it had an oil change, new cabin air filter, and new air filter at the Toyota dealership 2k miles ago.

I ordered new Bosch windshield wipers today on Amazon!

Thanks! I do about 95% city driving.

Thanks! My wife and I have iPhones so I'm all for this suggestion.

    Thanks!

Thanks for all the tips! A led flashlight is a great idea. Ditto the flares. You can disable the backup beep?? I need to do that for sure.

Cargo net, great idea. Does amazon sell official Toyota ones?

I should definitely become familiar with those steps before the know-how is required. Thanks!

Backup beep isn't really needed to remove I just find it irritating. Many dealers do it for free. Worth checking or a DIY with Torque app, etc.

Bought mine on Amazon. There's actually two vendors with lots of ratings and transactions there, you'll see. Both are Toyota dealers across the country somewhere.

In case you haven't tried this yet - or anyone else for that matter, a "real spare" won't fit in the 2005 nor the 2008 Prius Models - nope - not even the OEM 15" wheel. How do I know!?!? I tried, of course. . . Had a few flats, and couldn't even stick the bloody flat into the compartment after installing the donut. Like Wth?!?
So after, I got my 2011 and my aftermarket 16" wheels, I tried this again with the OEM 15" wheel/tire since it was just lying around. And NOPE! FAIL!!!!
Haven't bothered trying with my 2013 yet... but I am certain someone's already complained about it. I remember there were whole pages of rant on this matter in the previous model year threads. Forgot if I contributed to them or not. Let's see how special my special edition/persona series is... *lol*

This is a great list. Picking up the cargo net, weathertech floor mats, and changing my shifter to the one sold by Stage10.

Did you find a tie down strap to hold the tire in the cargo area using the built-in anchors? IIRC, that's what I had in my Gen II's, and now have it in my PiP. (Had to get my own donut, of course, and there is no compartment for it.)

A blanket in the back seat. Something recommended by my mom when I was a teenager. Be prepared if the temperatures get low and you break down. The blanket can also come in handy during other seasons.

Why yes it was! It's actually Premier Toyota in Rhode Island somewhere. Item arrived about 5 days after placing order. It comes in a cheapo dollar store looking bag and tag, but it's genuine Toyota.

I keep garbage bags in my car as well as tie down straps in that nifty cargo thanks to my cargo organizer in the "hidden compartment" to keep the area clean and prevent the flat from moving around. But I got a replacement pretty quick.
Still, I think they should be able to squeeze at least a full 15" spare if they really wanted to. It is only off by a couple of millimeters from fitting.

I got a small 3 gal. pancake compressor from Harbor Freight for 49 bucks and a Viair digital pressure gauge for $10 on Amazon and both work well. I am still debating on tire pressure for the Toyo 17 inchers. I currently have them at 39/37.
