Raced NASCAR circle track for 12 years. No way you're going to thrive in that environment unless you learn to brake left, gas right. Sometimes clutch, brake, gas all within fractions of a second. Learn to brake with left foot. I know we are not racing in the Prius but a right foot only approach to braking and gassing is incredibly less efficient/less reactive than using both feet.
Aha, I see this is up at Sears Point / Infineon Raceway. Did couple trackdays there. Tricky track that is. I applaud your racing career, and you are right, two foot driving is good in racing. There's a lot of parallel in that to sportbike (motorcycle) canyon carving / racing. I always rode with index and middle finger covering / applying the front brake which you know is on the right grip as is the twist throttle. There is trail braking into turns, also keeping throttle on to keep tension in the drive train in turns, and so forth. I say fine to use left foot to brake in car at times. But, if the car starts spinning out of control and one is using the left foot to brake, I don't know how someone will brace themselves to control the brake and there's a high possibility of hitting the gas too. I used to left foot brake up til 3 1/2 years ago then kicked the (bad for street) habit. Left foot or right foot? | The Safe Driver More good reasons why not to left foot brake. Went to Piercey Toyota this evening, took a sit in a 2013 Prius Four with power softex driver's seat. It wasn't all that, just ok.
Nothing to block glare from sun on Prius navigation screen - Accord dash has a hood over nav screen to block the sun Camry has nothing block the sun. What would it take for Toyota to think of these details?
Maybe Toyota had to cut some things in design to keep the price down? Ya know, put the yen into reliable parts that keep it running. I'm sure toyota is advanced enough to meet every "nancy's" needs and charge more for it. I had a ferd f250 that had great leather seats, great factory sound system and a terrific heater but EVERYTHING rusted off and I sure made it rain(like people do at a strip club) at the dealership to keep it running. My 2011 tundra.....not one issue! cycle....buy an Audi, you will love it! P.S. I too can't wait to drive my prius!
ok, so you or someone tell me how to attach a foam pad to a fabric door armrest without damaging the fabric after years. Double sided duct tape transfered onto the fabric.
Not only does Toyota make Prius door armrest that is too low and too hard, they go off and cover the armrest with fabric or leather instead of vinyl so that one cannot attach velcro without ruining the fabric or leather. Idiots!!!!! Off the shelf pad, but it's attached by gluing velcro onto a vinyl armrest, NOT fabric or leather (Prius). Geez, I must have bigger fish to fry in my life than to worry sooooo much about my armrest! I know you'll find it hard to believe, but actually drove a VW for years and my arms just dangled right there by my side. Bassards!
Can you secure some non-slip rug mat to the underside of the pad? It might at least keep the armrest in place while there's pressure on it.
I picked up some stuff from a craft store that's like putty. Seems to hold it in place and it's easy to pull it off. We'll see how it holds up over time.
Well, I suppose I can get used to not using the door armrest, I've tried that a bit. It's a little weird cause I've used it in probably every other car I've had, old habit. Who knows, maybe keeping my elbow off the armrest will save my elbow from getting taken out if the seat airbag ever went off in a crash. As for the steering wheel not telescoping close enough, there is 17" between the center of steering wheel and my chest and the police reports say there ought to be 10" to 12" minimum. I'm not sure the steering wheel airbag would be all that effective being that far away.

I see, wear out the carpet above pad, then wet shoes will deposit water to rust out the floorboard. Awesome. Dry your feet and wear Depends during those long drives and you'll eliminate that wet spot under your shoe.
hmmm, how to respond... a) That's real funny except it took you three days to think it up, smartypants. or b) I don't like snide comments any more than you would, so you can keep them amongst yourself if you don't mind. k, thx.
Seriously, it is hard for me to understand or validate the high level of bitterness with toyota's shortcomings on the prius? Is the something more that your not posting? I'm close with Ferd motar company because they sold me flat out junk in that, it didn't drive most of the time. For this, I will never buy another! Lighten up if you can and realize that we live easier now than most royalty in past history!
