What is the theoretical max for miles per tank? And what is the current record on here?

unlimited if you include electricity from the wall. barring that, maybe 100-1200 if you give it to wayne gerdes, or 7-800k for us humans. for the record, you probably have to go to the spreadsheet.

Definitely not unlimited since the ICE has to fire up every 120-something right?

good point. mmm, tough one to figure. i think it uses 2 oz. to warm up? i suppose it depends on ambient temp, but that would be 124 x 64 x 10 = ?

According to this post by usbseawolf2000, the 2 warm ups he tested used up 0.03 and 0.035 gallons.
How much gas does it use to warm up the ICE? | PriusChat
So, 10.6 gallon tank / 0.03 (or 0.035) gallons x 124 miles = 37,554 to 43,813 theoretical miles on one tank of gas.

Of course, this will void your warranty because Toyota recommends filling 5.3 gallons of gas every 6 six months.

Awesome, so that also puts our theoretical max mpg at 4133.

For those who can get away with EV only and just have to set a record here, one way to keep the gas fresh - start with a few ounces and add the 0.03 to 0.035 gallons for each 120 something miles of warm-up. Just don't underestimate the gasoline needs or else...

Haha, quite right! That would be for the wrong record - would get highest mpg but a pretty lousy tank range.

    AHHHHHH!
Kidding aside what do you think? 4,000 to 6,000 miles before six months is up and we have to burn gas?

Start your drive(s) using your EBH and you can cut that fuel wasting warm up in half. ;)

Well I just wrecked my mpg with a 90 mile RTrip to the airport and back - was 91% EV before leaving, dropped to 89% now - but I'm now at 2,800 miles still haven't filled up.
The Gas bars dropped so looks like half a tank and it'll be 3 months next week.
So with no more gas guzzling longer drives I could hit 6,000 miles before the 6 months is up and have 2 gallons to go.

btw - was driving 70mph and ended up at 54mpg in hybrid mode on way home last night

Sorry for the dumb question, but what is "EBH"? I have a pretty good grasp of the technology, but sometimes I miss the TLAs.
