So I have read a few threads about Techstream and Mini VCI but want to verify before I make any purchases. I do all my maintenance on my cars myself, from oil to engine changes, and I desire to be able to do the same with the prius. I have a 2012 and would like to plan for the future in terms of being able to do brakes and what not. The question is will Mini VCI from ebay be able to run on a windows 7 64 bit system and allow me to control solenoids, etc for brake changes and bleeding?

I have the Mini VCI and am unable to get it running on windows 7 64 bit, even in compatibility mode for XP or Vista. It runs fine on two older laptops with Vista and XP. The user manual states it is for :- Win98/ XP / 2000 / Vista. It is able to control just about everything.

No not come across that. Hows that work? Not that I need it as I use my ancient (14 years) IBM laptop for my car work as it saves knocking my new laptop about.

I'm running Techstream 8.20.019 on Windows 7 64bit perfectly fine. In native 64bit mode. But my cable is Mongoose MFC VIM.

Here is the step-by-step tutorial how to run it under x64 Windows. The registry modification step is required to get Techstream use the XHorse drivers (Setup -> VIM Select -> Interface setup: XHorse - VCI):
Techstream TIS VCI Installation Guide (64-bit OS)
Using this tutorial I managed to run it under Win10 x64 and it works fine.
