lol! offsets I think are 35. It's 15, 8's A bit of poke. But the real distraction is the small amount of tire stretch and gap is just too much. The step lip really makes the wheels look smaller. Once it's lowered it will be allot more acceptable. Not sure how acceptable though. Might really need coils or jsut bare with them on springs till I can afford 17's of wheels I really like more.

Installed sylvania silver lights to replace low beam bulbs. That passenger side is a cramped area to work in. I found it easier to install the new bulb then attach the connecter to the bulb.

    Hi PC,

I installed a set of XenonSupply (XS) HIDs. I tried the 6000K version, but they were too blue, and the 4300K version (OEM light color) seems just right for me - see photos below. The first set I got (6000k) had a bad bulb; but XS replaced it free, plus they switched them for 4300K bulbs. As a backup, I keep the old H11 Halogen bulbs in the car. The XS site should have a color chart so buyers can make a better informed decision on what the color temperatures actually look like.

Their online video, discount coupons, and free shipping make the process very nice (only $110) and fast. Called on Monday, got them Thursday. After installing, I did not see the 'ground shadow' effect either. I have seen similar looking HID sets on eBay for as low as $29, but I do not know the quality of those units. XS HIDs have the nice small ballast units, and they do not require another switched Relay across the battery to work (like the fog lights).

    [Another Custom MOD]

On my old Red Prius 5, I had installed a set of white LED ground effects lights under the rocker panels tied to the JDM Mirror puddle lamps. My wife actually like this mod, so I installed a set on this car for her as well.

PRO TIP: by connecting JDM Mirror puddle lamp ground wire to the dark blue wire in the 'A' Pillar; even if the interior dome lights are turned off, the puddle lamps outside will still work!

Note: GIF Converter hosed the colors, but you get the idea... (ha ha, just noticed: the Red car looks Blue, & the Blue car looks Red!) :)

    [Another MOD]

I was also going to replace the front door speakers and dash squawkers. I got a set of Infinity Reference X REF-6502ix from Crutchfield for the front doors (their recommendation). They come with the plastic Scoshe 6x9" to 6.5" adapter rings and Toyota speaker wire adapters ($89 total). They did not come with sheet metal screws though, and they email the master sheets so the cost of printing the generic Prius install instructions is on the customer now. I paid more than I wanted expecting to get a plug-and-play install, but nope. Go get some sheet metal screws, drill our rivets, drill different holes, tape, mount, etc...

Spent a lot of time on this...

NOTE: If you have JBL Premium Sound - think about this before replacing speakers:

I found out the JBL Amp has crossovers in it, not the head unit. Also, head unit supplies just Left & Right - the AMP provides fade to Front/Rear (they do not know what the crossover frequencies are).

This means: highs go to squawkers, lows go to door woofers. I did not get any highs at the door. Plus the JBL green edge tweeters were actually pretty good like the stereo shops said. SO, unless you are concerned about the paper in the JBL woofers rotting, I did not see any reason to replace them. While I had the doors apart, I installed some Dynamat:

End result: I did not change any speakers (Crutchfield said they should not have sold these based on how JBL premium is set up). But my doors to not sound like a tin can when closing anymore.

If there is any silver lining to this, it would be that now you can fill in the holes and have a smooth front bumper.

Do they fit the oem Toyota shrouds/mounts easily, or is modification needed? Do any of the BMW mounting tabs match up with the Toyota foglight mounting points? Thanks. :)

The one Jay linked is the one I bought.

The fogs are very large and do not match to any mounting points. Just a disclaimer, fitting the fogs on required me to permanently cut my bumper and create my own mounting brackets to make it fit. Without modifications, the fogs will not get even close to the bezel.
