I'm thinking another option is an electric leaf blower, that should be able to blow out all the water from all the nooks and crannies of the car.

I have removed mineral water spots from glass or paint by wetting a towel with distilled or Reverse osmosis filtered water. a single pass wipe removes the mineral and drys spot free, even if you do not wipe the surface dry.(Same process as the spot free rinse at the car wash.:)

I have a small RO system in my home for drinking water(3 gallons per day), but RO water is very cheap in most grocery and "C" stores where you fill your own container. The RO water is also excellent mineral free water for use in batteries and mixing with engine coolant.

Yes, that would work. Just don't use the leaf blower at 6am, to dry your car, like one of my neighbors did one morning.

It's not like he doesn't know it's loud, he was wearing hearing protection earmuffs.

Yes, if you use a leaf blower, make sure the leaf blower is an electric model.
A gas engine leaf blower puts the engine exhaust into the blower air stream, a mixture of corrosive combustion products and slimy 2 cycle oil. :)

Lol, he does use an electric leaf blower, but it still makes a high pitched whine, loudly too. Something you definitely don't want to be hearing when you've just been roused from a deep sleep.

Luckily, the car was area in the complex where I live is in an area that is far from anyones unit. I think I could use an electric leaf blower at 6am an no one would even notice unless they already happen to be outside.

Next time I was the car, I will try dry using this method as well as an electric leaf blower, no towels or water blades at all:

    Just my opinion.

But I bought and used one of those California Water Blade squeegee products. I tried it once or twice, and while it worked...I got rid of it.
Seemed to me what I was essentially doing in using it, was using it obviously as a "squeegee" and that is using the pressure of the blade against the surface to remove or force water off the finish. This just made me too nervous. Even though it didn't happen while I was using it, I was constantly worried with each use, or "drying stroke" that I was going to not see a rock or contaminate and end up dragging it along a stretch of my vehicle. It simply was not worth the risk to me.

Where I live, hard water spots aren't really a big issue. But I think there are better ways to deal with the issue than using "acid" in the form of vinegar or using a squeegee to dry your vehicle. On final rinse I use the "no nozzle" puddle the water off method and water spots are non-existent.

Washing cars in Florida is fun! Not... The worst place to get spots is on the wide plastic strip between the passenger windows. Learned that lesson on my GenII. Always make sure they don't have spots or the coating wears faster with time...

I am always amazed about this water spot issue ...

May I ask what do you do when it rains ??? let say every day for a week ?? Not all day just when you drive ... then dries ... you wash the car again ?

In my area most of the morning there is mist on the car too.

I don't believe rain water causes water spots, at least not to the extent that water from the hose tap does.

Big difference between rain spots that wash right off and hard water spot deposits, which don't.

Right, Dew or rain water like distilled or reverse osmosis filtered is mineral free and will not cause water spots unless the car was very dirty.

I buy the gallon jugs of distilled vinegar from costco and pour about 4 gallons on my car as a prewash. then i scrub really hard with a metal wire pan scrub to get the deeply embedded dirt out in lieu of the clay bar. After my wash, the car is sooo squeaky clean that nothing slides on the surface. literally, everything now sticks! yay. sooo squeaky clean!

I am driving my car in NYC and around every day there no way that raindrops are distilled water that is just pure nonsense.... mist maybe but there is ALWAYS dust on the car dust in the air. Yes I know people who bring the car out on Sunday wash it wax it (I have no idea what that means) then parks it back in the garage. Often not driving until next car beautification exercise. But that car is not a 24K daily driver ... :D

That's not dust. It's asbestos from the old buildings...

I acquired bad water spots on my front windshield at work when the well driven sprinkler hit my car. The paint was easy to clean as it had a good sealant on it but the windshield was a mess. Tried vinegar and lime away very carefully/ please keep off your paint. Then I greased my windows with rain-x. Boy that stuff is nasty but it works.

Good motivation to keep your car paint sealed or waxed.
