4th generation coming 2015!

I'm fine with tank size as-is. If there's mpg improvement, I'd actually prefer a slight reduction in tank size, to reduce weight. The only reason I can see for increasing tank size is for miles per tank, which is a fool's mission imo.

If that became "Plug-in will have a a spare tire" I'd get interested.

 

I gave my daughter a hand me down Honda Civic. It was a 4 door black, cloth interior, electric windows, stereo with CD and 5 years old. I believe it had about 100,000 miles when I gave her the car. She drove it every day from 16 years old to graduation from college and her first job about 7 years. Very minimum problems. Great car we got our monies worth on it. She liked the car so much she bought a Honda Civic new from the dealer. Than she bought another after 3 years. She is sold on Honda. The main selling points are reliability and frugality.

When she was car shopping I let her borrow my Prius for a weekend and she did not like it that much. I suggested she wait for the Gen 4 Prius or the re design Toyota Corolla 2014 but she chose the 2013 Civic.

I did not have a spare tire on my BMW. But the car came with run flats to mitigate the problem albeit an expensive solution

 

Wow. The last time I used a spare was 25 years ago and that was on a trailer. I've never used a spare on a car.

 

You've been lucky! I had to use the spare in the first thousand miles on my new Prius.

 

According to a car magazine article I just read; the new 2015 Prius' will be faster, more fuel efficient and lighter. Anyone else out there heard about this?

 

NorthernGuy - Please, provide more information and clarification. What "Car Magazine?" Do you mean "Faster Acceleration" or "Faster Top End Speed" or what? Are we to assume your "2015 Prius' " means the 2015 Prius v(vee) Wagon?

Frankly, the current Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) power plant and running gear set up with the 1.8-Liter I4 used in the v(vee) is powerful and fast enough for my driving environment, and "Hybrid $mart" driving technique. I drive for MAX MPG, and stay in the ECO - GREEN ZONE 99.9% of the time. I do not need nor desire "More Speed," but, of course, will always take "More Fuel Efficient."

Couldn't have been Toyo tires. I don't think they make those...what tires were there? Bridgestone? Goodyear? Yokas?

 

^^^^ That very well could be it. There is a touch of the artist renderings in there but it definitely still has the Prius look which I believe is important for Toyota. Looks updated and modern. Could be the 2015.

 

Other than the artist's rendering, what makes you think it will look drastically different from a Gen3?

 

Thats pretty much how I would imagine it. It is a logical conclusion from the current design and the spy photos. Maybe we will se some changes to the current design on the new "Toyota front" but not much.

Overall, not bad looking. The side mirrors are ahead of the door, which was one of the earlier "leaks." I don't like that the rear rocket fin tail lights are still present. The lines of the headlights are cleaner. The open maw front grill doesn't look as scary as compared to the earlier drawings, but I still don't like it. Maybe if they don't draw attention to it as much with the contrasting bright color body. This will look better in a dark finish. What's with the lower lip up front? Looks like a shovel.

 

Why not? Toyo Proxes - that's what came OEM on mine.
