LOL I can see it in my imagination a prius pulling a travel trailer with steam pouring out of the engine compartment. and the dirver says nothing wrong with it it is the way it always works pulling the trailer :ROFLMAO:

I guess this radiator mister would be an attention getter.

Regarding a misting system. Lol, the radiator doesn't get hot enough to turn even fine droplets of water sprayed on it into steam. If it did, there's a much larger issue.

The water will absorb a lot of heat, then either evaporate or most likely drip away. No great billowing steam clouds to be seen.

It's like driving in a fog .... moist cool air makes for better MPG; and with the addition of alcohol makes the car use less gas; have better overall performance; more power for pulling loads; ice runs cooler ( great for 1oo + degree days, but since ice runs cooler, grill blocking strategy is a must on less hot days ); more efficient way to burn fuel; helps clean ice carbon buildup.

My mistake, Im not sure how I got this mixed up. above is one place that mentions ICE runs cooler. I think there were other mentions about the actual temp of engine on some of his testing.

And a human mouth certainly isn't hot enough to turn water into steam on a cold day... and yet it does.

This is why I took pains to define "steam" as microcondensates of water vapor. Most people have this erroneous notion that steam *IS* water vapor (it actually isn't; water vapor is transparent) and steam only comes from boiling water, forgetting all the other manifestations of steam, such as fog, visible breath, etc.

Steam merely comes about from lots of water vapor, so much so that it starts to condense into microdroplets. These microdroplets refract light and appear as white.

Water goes into the gaseous state at an entire range of temperatures. It even sublimates from ice.

When you wet a huge surface area (like a radiator) and favorable ambient conditions, getting enough water vapor into the air to cause steam is not at all far-fetched.

Well, if this thing actually took in some steam, it might be more effective. :p
