What's the different between 2010 package IV and V?

    So I bought this used car. The dealer has it as package II but it's at least package IV since it has heated leather seat. BTW I love my new car.

    I have been doing some research now on this topic and here's my take:

    1. All Prius four and five (2010+) come with optional technology package
    2. 2010 Prius four without tech package will have leather seats, heated seats
    3. 2010 Prius with tech package will have (1) + solar sun roof
    4. 2010 Prius five without tech package will have (1) + LED headlamps with washer, 17" tires
    5. 2010 Prius five with tech package will have (4) + IPA, LKA, precollision warning system, DRCC

    Oh and most Toyota dealers themselves don't know the difference between various packages. I was all set to buy an advertised 2010 Prius 4 with tech package which was actually a Prius 5 with tech package but for price of four! And the sales guy actually thought he was too smart for me :) I was playing dumb all along anyway (to boost his ego :D) but realized it was Prius five the moment I saw the headlight washer. The deal didn't go for other reasons though

    The .pdf file I've enclosed lists what comes standard on each of the trim levels. I got it from the Toyota Certified Car program website. I too found it difficult to know which was which when I saw ads for Prius twos listed as having nav and every 2008 or 2009 was listed as a Touring model. I hope this helps.

    4 gets solar moon roof
    5 gets tech/advance package - collision avoidance / lane assist / self park features (& larger rims).
    You could NOT get both features. Their head engineer told us that the weight would be too heavy to maintain 50 miles per gallon. Personally I always felt it was just a matter of the cost being too high.

    The outside of the front door glass is water-repellent so that water doesn't accumulate and bead on the glass so that you can see out the window (and see the mirrors) more easily in rainy conditions.


    Note that leather can be port-installed or even dealer-installed with the same leather seat covers as factory.

    There are several ways to see if you have a IV or a II/III with port/dealer leather.
    1. Look for a tiny sticker on the climate control face that says "plasmacluster".
    2. Point a hose towards the windows on the front doors. The water should bead off immediately because the front door glass is treated with a water repellent coating

    A II does not have a navigation option while the III has the JBL audio system w/ bluetooth handsfree (the only thing that's different between a II and a III for 2010. There was a $1,000 difference between these two trim levels when new).

    A V will have 17" 5-spoke alloys (vs. 15" wheels on all other Prius models) and LED headlights (2 distinctive lens vs. a single large projector lens on all other Prius models)

    Are u sure? Here is my car

    It has solar roof, jbl, ipa , radar control....led, heated seats...
    They only change were the wheels , it has 17 as in the video instead of 15 as from the factory....

    The Prius IV has an optional solar roof package which is not avaliable on the V in the US which others have stated.
    The Prius V has LED headlights, headlight washers, fog lights, 17" alloy wheels, a tighter steering ratio as well as heated softex seats as standard equipment. It has an optional Advanced technology which includes: navigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, pre collision system and self parking system

    Yep ... we didn't get other E.U. features too - like rain sensing wipers & certain HUD features. But since the OP isn't in Europe - no point in clouding her with irrelevant stuff. ;)

    And, of course , it's totally different in other parts of the world.
    I don't know if there are differences between the US and Canada,
    but here in Europe it's different for each country.
    I almost bought an second hand Executive (that's the top level here) but it didn't have the adaptive cruise control......it turned out to be a French car, with different options.
    I cancelled the contract and bought a 1 year old Executive, with only 10k KM/6k Mi.
    At an other dealer......

    But I've never seen a car with a plasmacluster in Europe.
    Mine has all the options, but no plasmacluster.

    If there was one country where I wouldn't expect a plasmacluster, it would be the USA.....lawyers lining up for health damage due to ozone being generated in the car.

    Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to have the same line-up all over the world?

    I almost have the same car as yours, but no solar roof, and because of that it came with 17" wheels.
    Solar roof Prii came with 15" wheels because of the weight.......they say.....yeah right.
    We don't have lane assist here but we have turn signals in the outside mirrors....

    kye04: how can you tell that your car is equipped with a JBL amp/radio/speakers??
    It should have the JBL stuff, but I can't see a JBL logo anywhere.....

    The presence of leather doesn't automatically make it a 4 (IV). Do you have seat heater switches next to the power outlet beneath the shift controls? That's probably a better way to ID whether the seats are factory or aftermarket leather. Factory leather seats are also heated. Prius 4 (IV) also has felt-covered A-pillars, whereas a 2 (II) would be hard plastic.

    Also, most of us are discussing US Spec options. We're aware that other countries could blend tech package and solar roof as long as they ditched the 17" wheels.

    If you watch the video u`ll see the logo in the sound panels. I also have the subwoofer i the rear back, where the spare wheel is...
    Attached some pictures i did when i insonorizated the back o f my car. Before that, the road noise was louder from the rear, now i hear only the front noise.... Small investition with big sound dumpness effect...

    I also have turn lights on mirrors, and i do not have lane assist. It has radar stuff, i can hook it from the car in front of me , when that car accelerates, my car accelerates, when the car decress speed , my car also does that... It just keeps a safe distance from the car in front, no matter what....
    I drove 500km in the back of a car not pressing once acceleration or break.... Very funny and relaxing....


    P.S I bought the car from Netherland :)))) Actually u saw it on the commercial video...
