Thanks for all of the links to those threads. Never really thought it a big enough issue to search for and see, I appreciate you pointing those to me.

  3. I have an Ultragauge and since calibrating it the speed it gives me is precise to 0.6 mph and perfectly accurate. Numbers are also big and easy to read and I think looks nicer and less expensive than ScanGauge. Still one of my favorite new toys.

I ordered mine from the advance Auto web site.

Mine was drop shipped from the manufacturer and distributor.

It is the latest Version 6.2. It comes with a complete instruction book.

The book shows how to program the X-gauge function.

At the bottom you can select the units you prefer. One is for Standard units, the other for Metric. Choose your flavor at the bottom and it will pop up with all sorts of codes.

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    Thanks!

I hope there is one for how much Regen energy capture I'm getting? Something by % would be nice based on much braking force I'm applying?

I don't believe there is one. The Scangauge is only able to read things that the computer on the vehicle monitors, so some things won't pick up. For example, the computer does not monitor the tire pressures on all four wheels, so you cannot program the Scangauge to tell you that information.

It looks like you can toggle some settings on the computer? Is that right? Can you save changes into the computer?

I just got my Scangauge2 yesterday and have been playing with xgauges and a lot of the gauges in the spreadsheet do not seem to work on my 2013 Prius C2 with SG2 version 6.2 firmware 4.13... In a lot of cases nothing is reported at all, and in some cases the Scangauge itself seems to get corrupted (eg the xgauge edit screen starts at gauge 253 with lots of black characters - you have to manually scroll back down and edit the entries that caused the corruption and typically, the txd field has been padded with zeros that extend onto the second line of the screen.. Manually deleting these entries and power cycling the scangauge fixes everything, but its obvious that some of these gauges do not work properly at all..

Then there are some that plain do not make sense, particularly temperature xgauges.. There are a couple where the metric gauge strings are completely different than the fahrenheit strings and others where the strings are the same except for the math string where you can see the multiply by 5, divide by 9 conversion factor, but then the offset doesn't make sense- you are supposed to subtract 32 (or is that add 32, I can never remember), but here, both Celsius and fahrenheit math strings subtract the same ffd8 (-40 in twos complement).. Even if whatever Ecu the data comes from puts a constant offset on its value, shouldn't there be a difference of 32 between these math strings that do the C to F conversion?

Basically, between SG corruption and math that doesn't make sense, I don't have a lot of trust in most of these published lists of xgauge codes..

    Hello Vincent,

About coolant temp gauge. What are the differences between all on the list?

    Hi priusCpilot,

Yes, there is a Xgauge for HSI that can display that in %. That is how Techstream displays it.

    Combination Meter Data List.jpg

There are basically 2 coolant temp sensors in our c:
    1. Engine coolant temp. sensor
    2. HV coolant temp. sensor
Engine coolant temp. sensor is connected to ECM (7E0) and all other ECUs (7C0, 7C4 and 7E2) do not have their own sensors and their temp. values all come from ECM via CAN bus. There are minor differences between them and I think it is due to the different rates of updating from ECM.

HV coolant temp. sensor is connected to the MG ECU and HV CPU (7E2) gets the Inverter coolant temp. from MG ECU via a serial link.

Thanks Vincent, It is so glad to have you sharing all of this information for us…
I wonder if you can help us to find the Brake paddle “STORKE SENSOR” PID.
I am using the Torque… Thank you again!

    Hi denali123,

I can't tell which region you are from in your profile, so I don't know if it will work for you. You can try this:
    Column 1
    0 [TH]Name[/TH][TH]ShortName[/TH][TH]ModeAndPID[/TH][TH]Equation[/TH][TH]Min Value[/TH][TH]Max Value[/TH][TH]Units[/TH][TH]Header[/TH]
    1 [TR][TD]Stroke Sensor[/TD][TD1]Stroke[/TD1][TD1]2104[/TD1][TD1]A / 51[/TD1][TD1]0[/TD1][TD1]5[/TD1][TD1]V[/TD1][TD1]7B0[/TD1][/TR]
    2 [TR][TD]Stroke Sensor2[/TD][TD1]Stroke2[/TD1][TD1]2104[/TD1][TD1]B / 51[/TD1][TD1]0[/TD1][TD1]5[/TD1][TD1]V[/TD1][TD1]7B0[/TD1][/TR]

My readings for Stroke is 0.94V if Brake pedal is not pressed and increases as Brake pedal is pressed.
Stroke2 is 4.01V if Brake pedal is not pressed and decreases as Brake pedal is pressed.

    Vincent

    Vincent, you are my hero!!!!

It works perfectly on my car…
    Here are the result –

    -------------------------------Stroke------Stroke2-----
    Brake pedal release-------1.0v---------4.0v
    Brake pedal fully press---1.8v---------3.2v
    ------------------------------------------------------------

The number above are match with my Techstream reading ...
    Thank you so much!!!
