    Congrats! There is a wealth of accumulated knowledge here on PC, I would definitely read all you can and don't hesitate to ask questions!

    I thought this was stickied somewhere, but had to go digging to find it. The video in this thread provides some good tips on where to start for getting the most out of your Prius.

    Thanks, that was a GREAT video...especially for the wife (I'm a hypermiler, she isn't). One question though, are those 2010 numbers/values still applicable to the 2014 models, ie: the mechanics haven't changed over the years?

    A little analysis of those video "numbers" (ie: 62 mpg @ 55 mph; 58 mpg @ 60 mph; 54 mpg @ 65 mph; 50 mpg @ 70 mph) yields this simple MPG vs. MPH relationship:

    MPG = 106 - 0.8×MPH

    ...although based upon only four data points, I suspect this equation is valid. What similar numbers have others gotten?

    Yep, that's the kind of 'graphed' MPG vs. MPH information I'm used to looking at (on Ecomodder Forum).

    Which brings up a question: at what engine speed (RPM) or vehicle speed (MPH) does the CVT "kick-in"? I've heard 37 mph and 41 mph mentioned, but don't know to which Gen-vehicle they apply?

    46 mph is when ICE must kick in for Gen3. 63 mph for PiP.

    As for eCVT, it is used all the time. Electric motor is the "low gear". Instead of multiplying torque with mechanical spin ratio, eCVT does it with electricity.

    Where is all this information published? Toyota 'Service Manual' or Chilton after-market book(s)?

    Not sure it is published but if you have an OBDII adapter, you can see the engine rpm.

    Actually, I have two, a ScanGaugeII and a ScanGaugeE, but have not yet tried to install either one. What operating parameters for the Prius should be monitored first (for FE)?
