Hybrid Battery

    TYPO -- on my comment--mean to ask--do you have a PREFERENCE to the two chargers you listed? And, it appears as though it is better to charge under the hood and not in the trunk............?

    it's easier to charge under the hood. the battery takes a bit of undoing to get to, unless you add a permanent lead. either way is fine.

    The CTEK charger is the better of the two because it looks like you can select AGM as the battery type. An AGM battery needs a higher ultimate charging voltage than a regular flooded lead-acid battery.

    I listed the Schumacher to give you a cheap price point. If you can't afford the CTEK, the Schumacher is better than nothing.

    Yes, it is better to charge via the dedicated positive jumpstart terminal in the engine compartment. The negative charging cable would connect to bare metal, for example one of the nuts that hold the suspension strut to the body metal, behind the main relay/fuse box.
