Exclusive: 2012 MY Prius - Changes and Additions | PriusChat is basically correct. I think the only thing that isn't is there ended up not being a backup camera on the Prius Two (2).

I believe that for years 2012 thru 2014, the trim level and options are basically the same. So, Hybrid Cars | Toyota Prius 2014 should apply to all those years. Someone step in if I'm wrong. I've not been keeping up w/Prius news as much anymore  as I primarily drive a Leaf now and I've been quite busy.

BTW, one notable change that began w/MY 12 is the removal of parking assist (aka auto parking) and the addition of the HUD (heads up display). See Intelligent parking assist installation | PriusChat and No Park Assist in Advance Technology Pkg | PriusChat.

Seems to me the more i look at it the more it seems the Advanced Tech pack don't add very many really useful features

I guess it depends they're worth to you. IPA is cool as a demo toy and might be cool for parallel parking, if you're not good at it or you frequently need to.

I have test driven a Gen 3 Prius w/ATP to try the try DRCC, LKA, LDW and IPA. DRCC, LKA and LDW are kinda cool.

The Adaptive Cruise control is a great feature to have, which is usually found on luxury cars, though now its starting to trickle down. If you drive on the Highway a lot it, is very useful. The LED headlights are pretty nice too as well as the 17" rims. I would recommend you drive both and see which one you like better. The five handles better but rides firmer, you will also sacrifice a couple of MPGs with the five because of the larger wheels, something else to think about.

Also, the Pre-Collision System has saved me from rear ending someone on the freeway once. I am very happy I have The Advanced tech!

    Good posts thanks
I'm not really seeing any added features that i think i will use there cool to have but not very useful to me

I'm trying to decide between these 2 deals by tomorrow the 2011 white Prius with 11k miles and ATP for $20,650
or a Toyota certified 12month 12000 mile warrantied level 3 2010 with 47k miles in mint condition leather almost completely loaded and a color I like better then white for $17,750 heres the 2 to compare

The 2011 is probably the better deal in my opinion. It's 1 year newer, has 36000 fewer miles and is better equipped which means it will be worth more when time comes to sell it. BUT, if you like the 2010 better and you plan on keeping it for a long time, go with the one you like better, and save 3 grand. How long do you plan on keeping the car?

I'm a little embarrassed to admit it but the last car i owned is a 93 Ford Ranger truck I bought new in 93 driving it for over 20yrs ;) 300,000 miles on it I'm pretty sure I'll keep this Prius till the wheels fall off Spending over 20k is a little much for me and its like $3000 more for features I"m sure i won't be using
also having trouble picturing myself with a white Prius

Don't be enbarassed! Constantly buying new cars is like throwing your money away. Deprecation costs a lot of money. The Prius is a great choice, Im already at 100,000 miles and it has been smooth sailing. If you like the grey one better I say go for it.

I sent you an email. As far as the features go, I will break it down by feature. The LED lights are very bright and produce a nice color. The Radar Cruise is a great feature, just set your speed and set the following distance and the car does the rest, It will slow the car all the way down to about 23 MPH. This feature makes road trips easier. The Pre Collision system as a great feature as well, if it senses a collision is about to happen it will warn you and as soon as you press the brake pedal it automatically applies the brakes with as much force as needed to prevent the collision. the Lane Keep Assist is somewhat useful. It uses a camera to detect lane lines and warn you steer you back in your lane when you drift. during the day I would say it has a lock on the lanes about 70% of the time. At night it has a lock on the lanes about 90% of the time. I rarely use this feature, When I do use it, it's late at night and would help if you started nodding off and crossed the lanes as it beeps pretty loud. The self parking system is OK. I have only used it a handfull of times because its faster to just park yourself. The system does work well and its amazing to see your car parking itself. I would just rather park myself. Any other questions? I'm happy to help.

Thanks for the help i got your pictures looks great Seems anyways the dealer backed out and wants more money almost $22k for the white 2011 with ATP. After all the chat here I'm thinking maybe I should refocus my search on the models starting in 2012 the small changes made starting that year look pretty nice worth taking a second look

    Am i wrong ?

Honestly if you are going to spend $20,000, you can look at new ones. Possibly a new 2013. You can get about $5000 discount after the rebate.

But I understood you didn't want to spend that much, so if that's the case, 2012 shouldn't be in your search criteria.
