    Hi everyone,

I've seen posts about fluid showing up on the passenger side floor mat. However, I have been experiencing fluid (assuming water) showing up on my driver's side floor mat for a couple weeks. I've attached a picture of where the fluid seems to be originating from (I had wiped up most of the fluid when the picture was taken). The fluid appears to be coming from underneath the plastic and onto my floormat. If I had to estimate how much fluid shows up on the floormat, I would say a good 5-6 tablespoons.

    Any ideas? Thank you

as a followup, i just went out to my car to check things out. 2 hours ago, I returned to work from my lunch break and had wiped up all of the water. In two hours, here is what is on my mat in terms of the fluid. Oddly, the carpet around my gas door release is pretty damp.... I have no idea what thats about....

PS - no judging the dirty interior :)

The first picture does indeed show the source. I confirmed while driving home from work today. I started my commute with a dry mat. After 40 minutes, water was dripping down from the area shown in the first picture. The water is dripping down from underneath the plastic onto my mat.

I attached another photo taken just 10 minutes ago

although that comment may seem funny, it was surely a joke. Don't taste anything that comes out of a car, antifreeze will KILL YOU.

Tasting a film on the tip of your finger will hardly kill you. It won't even make it down your throat.

If you don't want to taste it, then just smell it.

I can't think of anything but antifreeze that would leak out like that. The AC wasn't on.....

Take the floor mat out and drain the water onto a white piece of paper. If it's pink....coolant it is.

You should smell a sweet smell if it coolant. You should check all around the windshield, and firewall for bad seals missing pieces. You could turn on a lawn sprinkler and sit in the car to see if it's a leak. It looks like you have a problem, it could get a lot worse, I think the air bags wires and many more run under the carpet and could be damaged. It may be worth the money to maybe pay a dealer to fix the leak. It also could be the ac drain tube but I know much about it.

It's only going to be 1 of 2 things that have already been pointed out:

    1) coolant which would indicate that ur heater core is leaking

    2) A/C condensation which would mean that text drain hose for the A/C either came loose or is clogged.

I'm not sure it's #1 as it's not pink in color which the coolant is.

Fluid is clear with no odor (like water). Sorry, I'm not tasting it... ha ha

If I stick my finger up underneath the plastic, I can feel moisture up there. I know the passenger side has the AC drain hose, but is anything on the drivers side related to the same drain?
