Anybody know the difference in mpg between these two tires?

Hmm, not a lot of responses, I'm interested too. Anyone care to revive an old thread, and experience with both?

They should be close but I'd give the edge to the Energy Saver A/S.

Is the EP422 less efficient than the EP20 and why?

I can't answer that. I've never seen a test between the two. Bridgestone may be able to tell you. :)

You just made my decision for EP422 firmer.

Ep100 is summer tread I think. The first of Ecopia line? And maybe hard to find. Good RR though. You never see summer tire offerings up here, it's either all seasons or snows.

The EP100 was discontinued. It supposedly had better RR than the EP422 according to the director of the Ecopia line.

My problem has become that NOBODY has the Michelin Energy Savers in my area, whatsoever. Zero zip zilch. I give up. I was not going to get the Ecopia's because of a bad rep they have received on the site lately, but it might be my only LRR choice around these parts. o_O

Theres another thread going on the site thats pages long, with LRR tire discussion. I read through the whole damn thing (ugh!) and discovered that a few members had disappointing tread life, not as good mpg, and other complaints with the Ecopias, which once were the gold standard recommendation amongst members here. The consensus of the respondents (in that thread) was to convert over to the Energy Savers.

EP20 have been fine by us, on our ex Civic Hybrid. Good for LRR, tread wear decent, handling fine. They get noisy when worn, and are shite in snow once down to around 5/32" (not an issue if you have snows). Other than that...

The most amount of snow I have experienced is a light coat of white dust on the pavement. ;)
