Low temp shudder on tight radius turns?

    I'm new to the 2G and wondering if anyone has noticed a wheel shudder or jump when turning a tight circle in low temps? I'll try to list out all the info I can:

    The shudder was exactly like a 4x4 vehicle in low range/diff-lock when turning on dry pavement.

    Going straight or slight turns only, nothing noticeable. ( I was paying attention)

    200k miles, just bought the car and haven't changed the WS atf yet.

    Temps in the -25°C/-10°F range [lucky me]


    Anyone have a similar experience?

    Check the front CV boots for cracking / leakage. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they need replacement (10 years old and 200K miles). Even if only one needs it, might at well replace them both since the difference in labor isn't that much.

    Yep it's cold, but pavement is dry.

    Thanks that does make sense. any recommends on brand for new axles? I have used auto parts-store type brands (most seem to be rebuilt in China) on other cars, most recent spent the cash on Raxles for a Subaru.

    I have no brand preference. I've only had to do it once on a different car. With a 10 year old car and 200K miles, I'd just buy whatever is cheapest and assume that it will last longer than the car itself.
