Yesterday, I was in a local store (Meijers) looking at some front wiper replacements. I was looking at Bosch Icons because I have used them on our other vehicles, and I really like them. When I looked at the guide books in the store, it showed that the Icons worked on the '12 and '13 Prius v, but apparently not the '14. The Bosch website says that the Icons are not compatible with the '14 either. I wound up picking up a pair of Trico blades.

Anybody have any idea why they would be listed as compatible on the 2 earlier models, but not the '14 v?

My assumption would be that the connection to the wiper arm has changed. You could confirm that by looking at a '14.

I would have to compare my '14 to a '12 or '13. Was just looking to see if anyone knew for sure off hand.

What size wipers does the v have ?
The UK equivalent, Prius plus, has very odd sizes, 700 mm (27.5") and 350 mm (13.8") on the front. Most non OEM wiper blades listed for the Plus are 26" and 16" same as the Gen 3 Hatch and cost around £10 GBP a pair. I had to go to the dealers where they had to order the rubber blade inserts which cost me £24 GBP. I was wondering if it would hurt to fit the 26" and 16" set next time.

They list 26" and, I believe, 19" for the front.

Did you check Rain-X? I have been using Rain-X Latitude for about 3 years now. I used to prefer Bosch but, to me, Rain-X performs better.

I am not a fan of the Rain-X Latitudes. I have a pair of those on the Rav4, and I will be changing these too in the near future. I'm glad that you like them, but my experience has not been as positive.

I'd also go with the assumption that the wiper arm hook is a proprietary design or something. I found it much easier to just order the rubber inserts and change those instead of the whole blade.
