You have to put at least 5 gallons of fuel in the car to get it started. What made you change the hybrid battery? Did you buy new?

The orange service plug on the battery has to be installed properly. Tilt upwards and then press downward to lock it in place. Or your car won't start.

Where did you get this new hv battery? Are you sure it's good? are you sure the 12v battery is good? Does everything light up on the dash but you just don't get the car to go READY?

Well the greentec battery could be a bad battery.

If there was nothing wrong with the car when it ran out of gas.....chances are, the hv battery on the car wouldn't go bad from that event....especially on a 2008

At this point, you would need to retrieve the codes on the car, see what could be wrong.

well sounds like you might have gotten rid of a perfectly good battery, 1 battery bar does not mean the battery is bad.

Why didn't you bring it to a dealer first?

Try this: Put your foot on the brake and press the start button and hold it down for about 5 seconds. I noticed after changing the battery the first time starting the car you have to hold the start button down a little longer.
