Dash rattles on the passenger side - some are coming from the glove box, but other rattles exist in the upper dash. Also, water pools in the weather stripping overs the back doors any time it rains. As soon as you open a back door, a stream of water pours onto the back seat.

Rob, interesting on IOS 6. Same here. I wonder what can be done to fix this? I had great phone service and all of my contacts in the dash. Now, it works sometimes and no contacts in the dash. I had not thought about the upgrading we did to the phones. Dang. Seems like 6 is much more headaches than it is worth. Messed up a jailbroke phone when I upgraded it too. Oh well, maybe a fix will come along for the Prius or the phone.

I've been having a "skipping" problem with the iPod in the USB port. I held off until my 5k service to have it looked at (but reported it to the dealer early on). It has been getting worse and I DID try another iPod and cord with the same results. Fortunately, it performed its trick for the service guys. They tested the USB wiring and wiring to the radio unit...all ok. So a new radio unit is on order (warranty of course). Dumb me...didn't ask if that was going to be the ENTIRE audio unit (like....I need to set up everything again....bleh) but looking forward to smooth sounds :)

I have experienced engine knocking for up to 10 seconds from "cold" start. The only possibly factors are moving the car for a very short distance (although I waited for the ICE to stop) and parking on a slope. The first time it happened I had been driving normally, then I parked for 4 days. It wasn't particularly cold. Today it was warm but I drove a very short distance. I waited for the ICE to turn off and started the car a few hours later. I heard knocking for around 10 seconds. Applying some gas made it go away, but it immediately returned. I know other Prius owners have experienced and reported this. I hope Prius C owners will post their experiences and report to Toyota. I think there's a design flaw somewhere :(

Sure you are not hearing the cooling fan in the back?

You need to let it run and only turn it off once the ICE shuts down. The ICE has to warm up, it takes about two minutes. Do this and it will not happen again. It's a non-issue, caused by driver error. Remember this is not a normal car and can't be driven like a normal car.

What was the out come with your new car?

45,000 carefree miles. A solid, comfortable, and economical car. I like my Citroen 2CV more, but, really can't imagine why.

Is this just based on your opinion or can you point in the manual where it advises against this? Not desiring to wait on the vehicle in order to avoid a cranium-rattling knock on the next startup is not what I would qualify as driver error (one has to be made aware in the first place that this scenario generates the conditions where the knocking is more likely to occur). Aside from your contention here, it sounds like Mark did, in fact, wait for the ICE warmup to conclude, yet the problem still occurred.

My 2010 liftback was severely afflicted with this such that I traded it in for the C, which fortunately either doesn't have it or suffers from it to a much lesser extent.

My 2012 C has been problem-free otherwise (I'm not sensitive to noises, I tune them out for the most part).

This based on fact. No Toyota does not advise of this need, nor would I expect them to. It is an odd occurrence, but by allowing the warm up before shut down seems to cure the problem, it did for me and others on this site. Not sure why Mark still has the problem. Maybe he is in a colder region of the country then I am?

Center & passenger dashboard rattles & creaks solved by move heavy user manuals to drawer above passenger glove box/compartment.

2015 C4 <750 miles and just noticed the Hill Assist was not working.
Took it to the dealer who said they could not "replicate" the problem.
Took it back to the dealer this week and asked them to show me the Hill Assist working rather than not working.
They say the "Hybrid Specialist" is not in today and reschedule a day for a test drive when he's in.

Worthless dealership trying to get out of a warranty issue.

Do you really need hill assist? This car pretty much can hold its self without brakes on an incline.
