What is that behind the right side (left in the photo) horn?

 

VPNS speaker?

 

That's the noise maker for the VPNS (Vehicle Proximity Notification System).

 

Interesting. I've never heard that. I'm not sure mine has it.

 

They're present in all 2012 or newer Prii. The mounting location varies.

I thought about doing that ... but it is required by law. Well, at least the regulation requires Toyota to install it.

I was thinking about getting a stack of them and running 12 in parallel. I'd like to see what that sounds like.

I've been on a stealth mode and many times I almost got run over a pedestrian. I knew that they can't hear me so always take extra caution. I'm reversing it now to unstealth mode before I get hit and ride by the next owner.

 

In a worst case scenario, that involves your car striking a pedestrian, it could be very bad for you if an investigation reveals that your VPNS had been disabled.

 

Moved my Gen 3 to the side and stretched my 1972 Mercedes 250C out a bit

 

…so does that mean the Hellas are not loud enough?

whelp... after a 4 month modding break, @ncases de-modding sale has made me go at it again removed my stocks:

then swapped with @ncases for his 3-in-1 light w/autofolding mirrors. yes, i know its blizzard pearl... need to fix that.

he DID have some difficulty wiring, but still worked. Neil said the wire coloring is different from his 2012 from my 2015. Particular to the puddle wires.

We couldn't figure out @SwamppThingg fogs, but might try again in 2 weeks. tried comparing with @ncases wiring setup. issue was @ncases had 1 ground and no need to run to battery. But @SwamppThingg kit had an extra ground and wanted to connect all the way to the battery and extra wires to go to the fuse i think. not sure.

ncases slowly turning his car back to stock. my steering wheel swapped with his.


aaannnd another weird look at my new mirrors. @SwamppThingg says to keep it white.. I personally cant take it and need to change it to CF or something... LOL
