OK, I finally resolved the bad skid control ECU, so I have no more codes relating to ABS sensors or pump actuator. Still get a C1310 when travelling at speeds over 60 for 10 minutes or so. After the car sits for a while, the idiot lights, triangle, ABS and brake lights disappear and the car runs fine. Except it has been whining at acceleration and deceleration a bit more than I remember. When I hooked up Tech stream, I got a P0A2B which is - Drive motor "A" temperature sensor circuit range/performance. Please tell me it isn't transaxle. Why does it only happen at high speeds? I can drive for 20-30 minutes around town without it triggering the dreaded red triangle.

If you have a code whose description is shown as a temperature sensor range or performance, that suggests that the computer is getting a temperature reading that doesn't seem reasonable. The computer by itself can't figure out whether that's because the actual temperature isn't reasonable, or something is wrong with the sensor, or with the wiring to the sensor. Its owner has to participate in checking and eliminating those possibilities. That would be you. The troubleshooting pages in the manual for that code will help.

The time-delay effect does have me leaning slightly toward an actual overtemperature, taking a while to get that warm. Even that has various possibilities, from some inherent expensive fault deep in the tranny, to some easily remedied reduction in the cooling performance. It doesn't help much to guess, you just have to do the legwork and find out.

They did replace the water pump for the hybrid drive back in June for the second time... Could an improperly bled coolant system to the hybrid drive be a cause? I paid for three day access to the manual a month ago, but when I tried to get back in on day two, it said the site was not available. Not exactly cost effective. I did print out a lot of pages for the skid control and pump actuator, but nothing for the transaxle or cooling for hybrid drive.

DTC C1310 is logged by the skid control ECU and means the hybrid drivetrain has a problem.
DTC P0A2B is logged by the hybrid vehicle ECU and means one of the transaxle temperature sensors has failed. The solution is to replace the transaxle as the sensor is not field replaceable.

Why does it take 20 minutes - maybe the sensor is providing an abnormal reading only after the transaxle heats up. Maybe the transaxle is actually overheating. If the transaxle is actually making excess noise, the latter might be the issue. Who knows.

Well, I have been driving it on and off for a few weeks, and it would show the VSC ABS and red triangle after 20 minutes at high speed, then after stopping and a few minutes the VSC and ABS would go away and leave the red triangle. After two or three restarts the triangle would go away. Then around town it was fine, and back to the highway, the symbols would show again. Then today the same thing happened, high speed, the symbols showed up, after two starts all went away, then aftr a 2 mile drive, I pulled into the driveway and the symbols showed up, and now the car wont move. No Ready light. No codes on OBD. Have not connected the VCI/Tech Stream yet, as it is dark and cold with snow on the way. Just glad it didn't happen away from home. Oh yeah, brake lights do come on.
