2008 Hybrid Battery

    Just a few months out of the 8yr/100k. Currently in the midst of the Goodwill process, but I don't think I could have timed it worse if I had tried, what with the holidays and folks being on vacation, etc.

    2005 Prius in my household with 178k miles on original battery. Just thought I would post since not all fail at 8 yrs. We mainly hear the bad on Prius Chat.

    What I would like to see is failure rate by region. I expect cold and mild climates have longer battery life.

    We have a 2008 Prius with over 22,4000 miles. We faithfully change the oil and oil filter every 3,900 to under 4,000 miles and seldom let it get to the "beep" (under one bar). I also use the cruise control and "B" shift whenever I can and don't go much over the speed limit. We just recently changed the brake shoes for the first time as well. Maybe one or more of these driving habits contribute to the hybrid battery still running OK. We were thinking of trading it in though, for a newer model.
