My car set out in the cold snowed in for a month. Unfortunately the dome light was on. Battery was dead. I jumped started it and drove it and the next time I started it all these codes popped up. It has 144K miles on it but was running fine before. Is it possible I screwed something up jump starting it or there is a problem with the 12V battery? Or is it the dreaded battery pack replacement? Engine stays on even at a stop, battery fan is blowing, and the battery indicator is usually full green..then goes down...then back up to full green. Any help is appreciated.

I would start by checking and probably replacing the 12 volt, sounds like you need it for sure, then clear the codes and see what pops up (I hope nothing, but at 144k.........)

Sucks...I was getting over 50 MPG..better than when it was new. I have only replaced the 12V once in the past 10 years. Its never even been to the dealership except for the HID light replacements that where under recall. It has a ton of hail damage so I could probably total it out but not sure now since it has all the warning lights on.

It starts right up...but the gas motor does not turn off at a stop. Really slow to get going because the electric motor is not assisting. Getting 40 MPG instead of 50 MPG. I wonder if it will keep running without the electric assist.

it will run as long as the battery has the power to start the engine. but when it doesn't, you'll be stranded.

Will do. It was not terribly bad to replace. And this problem started with the dead battery. Crossing my fingers this is the root of the problem. Its been such a great car. Ordered this on Amazon...fingers crossed. Optima Batteries 8171-767

you need a bluetooth odb2 scanner. then you'll be able to read/reset the codes and monitor the car closely.

I got the new 12V in the mail today...but thinking I shouldnt use it and send back. The fan for the hybrid battery is running and getting no electric motor assist. But it does seem like the electric motor is running...I can hear it when I turn off the engine. 12v volts starts right up so it is getting a charge. Not sure what to do. Doesnt turn off at a stop and gas motor turns on right away unlike before. Any suggestions?

Sorry. Any battery more than a few months old that sits in the snow for a month with the dome light on is done.

Regardless of whatever else may be wrong with your car, the 12V is shot.

    Next, get a minivci.
