Hello, potential trouble-shooters. In the past few days, our car (2006 Prius) has begun making some louder-than-normal noises while driving. I've determined that the noise appears when you turn the wheel at all to the right (note: not just making a right turn...any degree to the right past straight is enough). It seems to be constant when the car is running, but really only becomes perceptible around 30 mph. The sound is sort of like a buzzing. Maybe a grinding, but not quite. It sounds like it might be similar to this issue (2006 Engine Noise - buzzing, especially loud on highway | PriusChat), but I can't quite be sure.

    Any ideas what's happening?

Two of those resolutions were wheel bearings, which is my initial suspicion.

Wheel bearings get louder with speed and are always making noise, the steering wrack on the other hand makes noise when used, no mention of miles, my 06' whell bearings went at 40,000 and the steering wrack at 60,000, I'd get it looked at.

It's around 139,000 miles right now. We got it used, so I don't know for sure, but I don't believe the wheel bearings have gone out before this.
