Don't ask , but whilst the doors are open I was cleaning the window top edges. Glass was halfway down the door , pressed the driver power window roll up button and by God the glass wouldn't stop even when I applied excessive pressure in an attempt to prevent it going up. Obviously didn't want to damage the motor but was under the impression that pressure would activate the pinch sensors and wind glass back down?

Page 199 of the user's manual says there is a pinch protection ("jam" and "catch" so called) for when something gets stuck either opening or closing the window.

Napkin is best for jam protection. Just wipe it off.
    Put a steak in it.

I don't think the OP is denying that it is suppose to have it.
I think what he's saying is that his doesn't appear to be working.

If it isn't working, I'm not exactly sure how one could most safely go about testing it. But from a safety standpoint, making sure it is working IS important. Since the OP's vehicle appears to be a brand new one? I might just mention it to the dealership repair department and let them take responsibility for testing and repair if necessary. If they say it's working? I'd want them to show me how they tested it, and SEE it work.

That's exactly what I was trying to say , thanks.

Maybe it had something to do with the doors being open when trying that "test"? Or maybe I kept my finger on the button and shouldn't have . will run some more tests. Lol - will try and not use the mother in law's neck as object.

A wood stick will do for testing, and yes, it should work even if you keep the finger on the switch. Otherwise how can Brandon try to kill his annoying sister Brenda? :D

I would roll up a hand towel and use that; less potential for damage if it is faulty.

It only works on Auto AFAIK, I believe if you hold the switch down you override it.

So you can execute a sleeping passenger.Think I suggested using a napkin to wipe the jam off. Work with me folks:ROFLMAO: BTW, was driving my first new car at officer training and my Italian friend had fallen asleep with his head out the window. I was playing with he window switches and rolled up the widow with his head in it. He was not happy.
