Have you checked the negative terminal on the battery? Make sure it is tightly secured to both the battery and screwed in good to the body ground.

When the immobilizer light is not blinking, do your interior lights work? Does anything in the car have power?

the only thing i recall seeing is poor operation, not a no start situation.

i'm beginning to wonder if something in your immobilizer system is overheating. maybe you were on the right track to begin with.

no, but i haven't heard everything. i'm thinking you need toyota diagnostic software to help you pinpoint the problem.

If you press the START button with your foot off the brake, does it go into accessory mode? If so, and you press the button again with your foot of the brake, does it then go into the ON but not READY state?

    It does nothing.
So when the immobilizer light is blinking. It will start/ go into accessory mode.
When it's not blinking it won't do anything.
Lights work door works. Fob works. But nothing in dash. It's even gone as far as it will blink then when I press it, makes a faint sound and does nothing. It won't blink after key pulls out.
Typically this only happened after driving it and warm days and letting it set for a minimum of 30 min or so.

I have had it start blinking after playing with fob. Which I do but I think it only really resets the light after the issue has gone

    Extremely strange.

Does anyone know if accessory mode (foot off brake, press START once) uses only the 12 volt battery, or if that mode is powered by the HV battery?

I wonder if some component is borderline failing (Like a capacitor on a circuit board somewhere), and the heat aggravates the condition.

I meant to say the board and looked for discolorations, bad solder, swelled capacitors and didn't see anything. I was trying to see what energizes that and check it. Like does the main Ecu energize it?

I measured and it was 12.8v front and back. I haven't measures Ecu or anything just up front and rear.

Out of half fear reading that soe
some reson my post didn't go through.

Ok so update, today as I went for morning coffee. And when I came home and pulled out the key I noticed the light did not come on for security!
I started it and it still started though.... I shout it off and waited a couple hours and came out and it started again but the light was not blinking. I shut it off and out of curiosity I tried once more and it is back to not starting.... No light blinking. So weird. Any thoughts?
