How did you know? I prefer to call it a power fade.

The Battery Tender line has a HUGE following in the motorcycle world because, for many, riding like boating is a seasonal activity in many parts of the country. WalMart carries them. I have two and even the junior model will work on the Prius; just make sure it's a 12V model. They come with both permanent and alligator style connectors. Chargers

I run the lead down the vent tube hole out the back for an easy, peasy connection.

As a follow-up, I didn't buy the charger last month since my wife added taking the Prius instead of her Yaris on her once a week commute to work in Los Angeles, 45 miles each way in rush hour traffic. Now I realize that's not going to be a long term solution since she hasn't needed it for a couple of weeks and our schedules haven't allowed the long weekend drives to see family either.

I'm off to buy a charger.

This is the CTEK MUS 4.3 you want. It has an AGM 12V battery setting. Amazon link, $76.

Here's a Schumacher smart charger that is also good for wet/Gel/AGM batteries like the CTEK. Amazon link, $47. It lacks the convenient battery post connector that can be left attached at the posts.
