I agree. And the Michelins will provide long read life too. I got 100,000+ miles on a set on my Gen2 Prius. I'll switch to that brand first chance I get.

The 1st thing my kids pointed out was the back seat at the bottom on both sides of the car. It sticks our far enough that is makes you want to slide down in your seat. But besides that it's a nice driving and riding car.

Yes. Every car I've owned came with something other than Michelins. When they need to be replaced, I always get Michelins and I am reminded why: quieter, better ride, longer tread life.

virtually silent. there are still other noises such as wind and the sounds coming off the road through the poorly insulated body panels. but the reduction in noise from the oem tires to the michelins was dramatic.

I've been using Bridgestone Ecopia Plus's and I think they are quiet. What are the OEM tires?

I will be getting these bad boys next time. I didn't think there was such a difference between tires.

I recently downloaded and compiled into a pdf, the Owner's Manual for the 1958 Volkswagen Beetle. In about 80 pages, they covered:

    1. All the basics, very thorough.
    2. Driving tips.
    3. Engine oil change, extensive explanation of oil grades.
    4. Transmission and differential fluid changes.
    5. Steering gear lube.
    6. Suspension lube.
    7. Wheel bearing lube description.
    8. Door and window lube.
    9. Seat track and shift lube.
    10. Tire inspection and removal, jacking.
    11. Body care, washing, waxing.
    12. Interior upholstery cleaning.
    13. Cleaning of glass, maintenance of weather strips.
    14. Air filter service.
    15. Fan belt adjustment.
    16. Carburetor clean/overhaul.
    17. Valve adjustment.
    18. Spark plugs, timing
    19. Battery maintenance.
    20. Fuses.
    21. Headlight aiming, bulb replacement.
    22. Brake adjustment, bleeding. (the latter only with optional hydraulic brakes, lol)
    23. Brake adjustments.
    24. Steering gear adjustment.
    25. Front toe-in check.
    26. Front wheel bearing check.
    27. Door lock adjustment.
    28. Exploded views with extensive identification of engine and transmission.
    29. Extensive description of chassis, transmission and rear axle, brakes, body and heating system.
    30. Seven pages of technical specifications.
    31. Maintenance chart.
    32. Six page index and supplied tool list.

The low-rolling-resistance ones called "Energy Savers".

I only have 8,000 miles on my Ecopia's. Maybe I should have the dealer keep the OEM tires and put my Ecopia's on my new Prime when it comes in?

toyota uses several brands on the same models. so i would wait and see hat they are, do some research and a test drive, then decide.

i was going to keep my old tyres, and if i traded in or sold, swap them out and use the michelin's on the next car. but i decided i'll just swap them if i trade. if i sell, that would be more money, and i'll decide about new tires based on what i think of the oem's.

I think I would have done that has I thought of it earlier. I guess I was too excited to have gotten the car.

Take a look at reviews of the Dunlops. There send to be an issue with tread life. They are known to be noisy as well.
