It saves all your customizable memory settings - radio stations, time, etc. It may defeat your reset purpose, I'm not sure how that is set up.

 

Sounds good to me.
But I'd like to clarify - was your Prime parked in your garage and plugged in to charge and you left in EV mode and got heat from the heat pump withn 200 feet of leaving the garage and the engine never started on your entire drive?

If yes how far did you drive in EV mode without the engine starting?

Was the car parked in the cold outside without charging, how long, and were you able to use EV to get home without the engine starting?

Just looked at site, this is another subject. The only memories lost when battery is disconnected is the clock and date. This was true in my 2005 and 2012. Both are easy enough to reset. If one wants to spend $12.00 to not have to reset clock and date, go to it. It may even interfere with the original plan of returning close to original new car range.

My prime is parked in the garage and L2 charger is also in garage. There seems to be no limits on EV mode. It seems I can drive forever in EV mode, right now range is 29 miles. Being a veteran of 4 Prii now I don't tempt fate, I keep the acceleration light and never turn the heat up high. Most of my eco scores are 3/4. Most of our temps are modest, snow in Cool but not in Sacto.Yes, I too was amazed that warm air flowed shortly after exiting my garage. Hope that answers your questions. Andy






To change the subject. I am also selling my 2013 Prius C. Listed on Craig's list for Sacramento Has under 13000 miles on it and CLEAN.

That's the negative, not enough space but I'm traveling around with the back seat down, then there is more than enough space.

Agree there will be some resets, clock, Apps maybe.

Actually, I think it would, the object IS TO REBOOT, If a spare battery is connected thru the OBD 2 port before disconnecting 12 V, that would be the same as NOT disconnecting, hence no reboot.
Iincidently there is one on EBay for $6.99. I would only reboot IF I had triangle or code warnings. Good procedure before running to dealer.

If you set that to 8 Amp it will affect 16A 240V also

That's for Ev mode. The question was about Hv mode.

 

Anything over 35 Mph affect drag...so more power is required...1/100 seems nothing to ordinary user...where to the Engineering is fighting with design vs drag efficiency
