Made some progress...just can't rush this... nor do I need to when I have a second set of taillights.

Still using Tamiya "Smoke" TS-71 and Krylon SuperMaxx All-in-One Satin black.

Spent some time looking at repair manuals of the 1NZ-FXE - Terminals of ECM. Came up with this...for wiring in some sort of piggyback or standalone engine management system.

See anything I may have missed if you compare the attached PDF?

This is looking great! I can't wait to see how it turns out. I have been wanting to put a turbo on mine for years now, this may be the inspiration I need to actually do it.

Camcon units are hard to come by. Last one eBay was for Hondas and the older models aren't cross compatible. So.... I picked up a Greddy e-Manage Ultimate. Wiring is a quite a bit more intense...a lot more wires to connect. Hoping to find a tuner in Dallas... or I may have to drive to Houston for tuning...

The awesome in this thread is beyond belief! I love it! Not that I'll ever get close to doing anything like this, but it is fascinating to follow!
Keep up the great work, more power to you!

When I worked for boostlogic, we did a lot of tuning work with PRT and Dallas performance up in the DFW area. Or theres enginelogics inc. in my neck of the woods down in the Houston area. Of course theres Boostlogic and Cobb based in Austin. If you come down to Houston let me know though, I'd love to see the ride!

    Thanks for the advice!

PRT Performance flat out said "No!" to me and the prius. lol
MVP Motorsports Inc also said "No!"
Dynosaur Performance was at least able to recommend a guy, he's been busy, but i'm following up with him.
Dallas Performance, i'll definitely check them out.
EngineLogics looks good...I'll definitely chem them out as well.
I have offices in Austin and Houston so if I don't have any luck in Dallas, i was planning on hitting up Meghani Motorsports in Houston and I'd definitely check out Boostlogic and or Cobb. If i'm in the area, I'll definitely hit you up.

I'm currently trying to figure out if I can make my own custom ECM harness so I won't have to cut up my OEM wiring. Looks painstaking and tedious....

Realized my earlier post of the first ever supercharged then Turbo NHW10 1999 Classic Gen Prius story - the PDF didn't attach, so here it is again.

It's a good read - the trouble that Julian Edgar went thru to get the Prius up from 43kW (57hp) to 55kW (73hp)...a rough 30% increase in power.

Shows I'm in for a world of issues...

    Summary of Turbo Modifications:
    • Turbo – GT1241 from hydrogen turbo kit
    • Fabricated exhaust manifold – Hydrogen Turbo Kit
    • Fabricated intake and intercooler plumbing – 2 inch and 1.75 inch mandrel bent – Hydrogen Turbo Kit
    • One heat range colder Iridium spark plugs – 2 step colder NGK 2667
    • Intercooler – Hydrogen Turbo Kit came with a Spearco
    • 2-inch exhaust – Car is already setup with a custom 2” Magnaflow exhaust.
    • Airflow meter – use the one I made for my custom air intake
    • Intake airbox – Will use a cone style filter, not concerned with the extra noise from not using a air box.

    Still need to buy:
    • GFB recirculating blow-off valve
    • Turbo oil lines
    • Fuel supply system – in-tank pump, external pump, two pressure regulators, solenoid, one-way valve, two control relays

    Still need to figure out:
    • Electronic switching of oxygen sensors and fuel pressure via the Simple Voltage Switch kit working off airflow meter signal - Hopefully the Greddy EMU will help with this.
    • Airflow meter electronic interceptor – Hopefully the Greddy EMU will help with this.
    • Decrease in high load boost using a solenoid-controlled bleed on BOV pressure line via Simple Voltage Switch working off airflow meter signal – Either Greddy EMU or some other Electronic boost control.
    • Engine 'on' signal provided for 30 seconds after boost event via a modified Simple Voltage Switch working on hybrid ECU 'full air con request' input – still need to figure that out.

Thats the problem I have been running into with a lot of the prius mods, definitely a car you have to MacGyver together for certain things. I haven't even seen anything in the Japanese and Russian markets for a new ECM harness.

Couple new cell phone pics after washing the car this weekend. Didn't have time to do much of anything else...

Was wrapping up a few mods this weekend. Finished up the taillights - sanded and clear-coated.

Luckily my wife and I are OK. Got sandwiched between two cars. Hopefully I can start this project again soon.

Getting close on the turbo charge pipes too!

At the end of the day this is a car, things happen. Man... that sucks. All the work and bam. Are you going to end up getting another 08/09 and swap the parts? Most of the work should be easier the second way around.

2nd time... my silver 2008 was totaled in SanDiego. That's where I pulled the motor to rebuild for this 2007 and using it for mocking up the turbo and charge pipes.
