Ich. Naps make me feel like I've been run over by a train.

The math doesn't work for me, since the nearest restaurant to my office is 7 miles away. That's a 2+ hour walk each way, with 700 feet of altitude difference between the ends.

i'm using an L2 at home, perhaps that is the difference. you're putting a 40% charge in 40% of the full charge time, i'm putting approximately 75% charge in 50% of the full charge time.

also, i see a slowdown when my a/c is running in the house.

Not to walk to work but go there for lunch or a nap in the car. But 7 miles is outside the practical range. My options are:
    • 0.25 mi - 16A UAH campus with on campus Dunkin Donuts, Chick Filet, and dorm cafeteria.
    • 0.5 mi - Toyota dealer near Pizza Hut, Denny's, Chick Filet (untested)
    • 1.0 mi - mega shopping center, full L2.
These are close and my commute is ~10 miles. So an hour lunch and slow drive back to work and I have the effect of a work charger.

    Another set of charging metrics:

Rather than speculation on Prime charging performance, I prefer metrics.

Yes, and if the EVSE in the shopping center (the charging point) allows lower than 16A current, the charging will be performed at this allowable current and will take longer than usual even if it is on a 240V line

It is important to test everything and fortunately my BMW i3-REx has been helpful. It turns out we only have one set of L2 EVSEs that are limited to 16A. All the rest support at least 31-32A per the rate of charge of the BMW i3-REx.

Preliminary testing suggests we are seeing 29.2 mi EV range in the morning vs 25 mi range after fully inflating tires. But I have also done 224 mi EV and there are learning factors too. I'll have to do an A-B-A test and road benchmarks to be sure.

Just finished seven days: 301 miles, all EV.

Also, there was some evidence that descending a hill can exceed the pack ability to absorb power. The higher engine revs and slight increase in engine noise suggests "B" mode but there is no external indication of this mode.

I could use a assist on clock set, my time is good, I just want it to be about 2 minutes slow so my time of use charge is safely after midnight. thanks

On the charge schedule you can set hours and minutes ( I think, but I haven't really tried to set the minutes portion)

That's true, I could change the charge start to 1202. But, I need to know how to change clock anyway. It's all the way over on right at Sun option, then I get lost.

Andy, none of the safety features prevented you from backing over Darth Vader?

That looks like a flat Darth Vader in front of the car. He must have backed over him. :ROFLMAO:

Ah. I thought Vader was standing in front, like some of the commercials.

Ok, I am still investigating Prime performance but I am running out of questions. This means I am approaching a time when 'like' decides which car I take in the morning.

I'm at 55:45 trending to the Prime. The Prime has 17 years of Prius history so everything is well integrated. The BMW feels like a cleverly done but hobbled hybrid. Granted I have 12 years of Prius Gen-1 and Gen-3 experience so I am not unbiased or inexperienced.
