Hahahahaha!!! My favourite joke is that you don't drive a Prius. You FLY a Prius like an aircraft...

But seriously, when I first got mine home, I printed out pages from the online manual, then spent 3 hours in the "cockpit" poking and prodding away, learning where what everything was, how it worked, and how to effectively use it!

Yes, I did feel like I was learning to fly an aircraft!

Actually I used to think of my Gen 1 as an airplane, but I think of my Gen 2 as a spacecraft. In fact I noticed one day that the Prius has the exact same number of windows as the Space Shuttle did (11)

    Prius

    windshield
    Drv vent
    Drv front
    Drv rear
    Drv quarter
    Pass vent
    Pass front
    Pass rear
    Pass quarter
    Hatch upper
    Hatch lower

    Space Shuttle
(CDR = Commander, PLT = Pilot)

    CDR L
    CDR M
    CDR R
    PLT L
    PLT M
    PLT R
    Overhead L
    Overhead R
    Rear L
    Rear R
    Hatch

(The Shuttle mid-deck airlock interior hatch also had a small window, but that didn't give a view into space it only gave a view into the airlock.)

More computers in a Prius than what landed on the moon in 1969.

    Cool statistics! Thank you!

Which is why I call my Gen 2 Prius "The Spaceship". No, seriously! I also coined this personal phrase about the Gen 2:

"Much more than a car; a little less than a Space Shuttle".

It's more than a passing resemblance to a Star Trek Next Generation Shuttlecraft can't be exactly ignored either.

I swear the designers have a highly developed "sci-fi" sense of humour! The important thing is....they nailed it!

p.s. The Gen 4 in white and black reminds me of the Shuttles used in the recent movie "Interstellar"......especially the Prime!

On my 2010, a buzzing sound would stop and start all the time. I ignored it thinking it was supposed to be doing that. After taking the car in for a recall, I asked about the noise. Glad I did. It was a problem with the brake booster assembly. Very expensive to replace. Since my car was a 2010, I sold it to CarMax.
